What were people saying about using shift+f5 to do it?

The only way I know how is to use fraps to make it, virtualdub to splice movies and remove frames... and the easiest way to compress the files for me was with Windows Media Encoder... though virtualdub can do that too.

Shift F5 only removes th User Interface from your Screen, so you´ve got an unobstructed view for the camera. :)

Never dun it on my old machine but apparently:

"This feature, currently under development, will be especially useful to those of you who are shooting movies from the game : it will allow you to record a camera path (SHIFT+CTRL+ALT+F10 to start/stop), which you will be able to load on demand (SHIFT+CTRL+ALT+F11) afterwards. You can also record the current camera path in a file (put on your Ryzom folder) by pressing SHIFT+CTRL+ALT+F12, and reload it afterwards by typing the following command : '/loadCamRec '."

Not sure where I pulled that from or if it's still active. Might even be from the beta testing. *shrugs*

Try the freeware Game Cam ;) Shift+F5 produces some ugly errors for me, I use an alternate desktop with everything hidden except the icon bar (100% transparency). For the rest I'm using virtualDUB and Premiere. The ingame camera doesn't work for me, I think it's disabled now.

This feature was working fine a few weeks ago, but I found it can produce some rough results if your character isn't close enough to the camera path for your graphics settings; all your far clip limits, and so on, are centred on your character, not the camera. For an authentic out-of-body experience, maybe something like the trance-dreams experienced by the Zorai sages, try loading up a camera path you recorded in another land. :) Make sure it isnt a very long path though or your spirit may never find its way back to your body.

Note that this feature does not record video, like fraps, it only saves and loads camera paths. When you load one up, your ingame view shifts to follow the path, not your character.
