The Cliche Neutral Merc

Alright guys. Here's my proposition... Any so called "neutral" mercenary should join the kami cause. I'm sure we can round some people up to pay your fees. You're mercenaries aren't you? You fight for dappers...that's what it means right? So will you fight for the cause of the Kami? Or is this mercenary thing just a mask you wear? As mercenaries you should fight! Fight for the cause that calls you, or the one that you're payed most for, but either way, fight like the fighters you claim to be!

Mister Liquado of the Zoraï,

I want to begin by stating that I am not a mercenary in any way and neither are the neutral homins I personally know. I am sure you Kamists can negotiate a price with some of the known mercenary organisations. I feel I would like to warn you for dealing with their likes though. Mercenaries may get the job done, but the morale of soldiers fighting for A CAUSE instead of dappers will definately decline. Managing the troops will become troublesome.

It saddens me that the Kamists need to go to such extremes to keep up with the Karavaneers proud and skilled warriors and harvesters. I wish you the best in building your stable, Zoraï.

It appears the purpose of this post was lost. There were some sarcastic elements that could have shown through a little better, my apologies for not being so clear. My purpose here was to bring out, what appears to me as, a throbbing thorn in the side of all that is contradictory: peace loving mercenaries. If I understand it correctly, a mercenary is a warrior, but instead of fighting for his cause he fights for money. I don't see how such a homin wouldn't encourage such a war, for easy dappers (if they're so skilled), let alone how such a homin wouldn't see a time of war as the perfect opportunity to make a couple extra dappers (but honestly you all know it's much more than a couple). Believe me, we don't need help. I'm sure if you take a look around at our sanctuaries compared to the Karavan Temples, we're not doing too poorly for ourselves, we actually seem to be making equal progress. As far as I'm concerned, any of these so-called "Hominist" mercenaries can disappear from the face of Atys. Heck, I'd gladly be the one with the wand. But in either case my point was not that we need help, but instead to incite frustration that might bring me to a better understanding of how "Hominism" and being bought at any price somehow can coincide.

Well Liquado, your luck is in: I'm no hominist. In fact some might even say I'm the complete opposite, so if a 'job' needs doing then look no further. The rest of my guild, despite their occasionally bizarre religious leanings are happy to help out in any way they can too - for the right price. It's no secret that during this conflict they have been contracted out to the Karavan on a number of occasions. You might see our names high on the Kami stele, or even on the Karavan one, some are hominists, some cheered on the Guild of Elias. The thing is, it's best to keep you guessing because who knows, our next 'job' may be you...

Sleep well friend, and if you want to hire us personally, you know where to come.

Some homins who might like to take your dappers have this wee problem of shedding Karavan fame. It can take quite a few missions. I wish they would mark fame with a few decimal places so we can tell what each mission is worth. I know one guildleader of a Karavan guild who is quietly working on dozens of missions to get rid of Kami fame so that he or she can make an appearance in the old lands. :)

Erm... I plead guilty for that ;) . I'm the lurker. And yes, I have GPS on every guildmember to inform them about what's going on here :p .

I think most of the Samsara are digging for the Kami sanctuaries already, so you have nothing to complain about, Liquado. I will offer 2 million dappers per week for Jyudas to dig for the Fairhaven Karavan temple.

Jyudas refused my previous offer; apparently, he's well regarded by the Kami and trying to get Karavan trust may be bad for his business and his guild reputation.

ooc: it's a bit hard for some mercenaries to work on they fame. Unfortunately, the game does not allow enough freedom of choice. I wish we could heal and rez (and nuke, in some cases) any player, regardless of faction.
