1. Fragment of ... skulls
2. Tuft of ... hairs
3. ... meat

No NPCs in my noob town seem to want them. Should I dump them?

These type of things are only for NPC quests. The kicker is you need to have the quest before you find them so these are useless and dumping them will let you hold more useful stuff in your inventory.

I think most, if not all, of this stuff has a blue backgroud for its icon and is easily recognized. Also, they are listed last on the loot list.

Blue background? My quest items are all orange @ fyros..
All with orange background = drop

This is because you are player with a Tryker avatar. The color changes with whatever race you are using, so it'd be best advised to simply not pick up all and to avoid anything w/ a colored bg to it (that is dropped by animals)
