Mob tracking must be fixed

For the love of god, someone please change this....
Whenever a predator mob attacks a herbivore mob near you, that predator will ALWAYS target you next to attack, no matter how far away you run from it and no matter how many other herbivores you have put between you and the predator.
Predators will defy all laws of logic and physics and magically find and catch up with you from 500+ meters away, 3 or 4 minutes after the initial encounter. This is increadibly stupid, and it has made travel far too dangerous.. the herbivores are almost worse than the predators because they follow you and if they are attacked, you are next no matter what.
Please implement some coding rule that once you put two or three hundred meters between you and the predator, it will stop tracking you. Either that, or make it so that predators will not instantly target and track you next, if you happened to be nearby an earlier fight. This is absurd.
