This can explain alot why we don't get heard in the forums

Quote from MMORPG:

MMORPG.com: What to you is the most challenging part of your current job?

Jessica Mulligan: Here, in this position, it is communication. I don’t yet speak French very well and, although there are quite a few people at Nevrax that speak English at varying levels, wires still get crossed occasionally. I have to check up on my assumptions with people two or three times, just to make certain that I adequately communicated my thoughts.

Usually I can tell if I’ve failed just by the looks on their faces. They get that “What is that crazy women saying now?” look and laugh. I have these visions of bad B movie scenes, where I think I’m saying “We need to develop this” and it comes out as “I wish to sell your sister.”

Funnie writen but so sad also....

Agreed, Translation is ALWAYS difficult. However to our advantage is that Jessica is natively English speaking. It IS her job to make the rest of the company see this viewpoint.

In addition, we have the support of the "all English speaking" Jolt team here to make our life pleasurable and smooth. I would also look to Xavier as he has not hesitated to comment in English although his translation does seem a bit off at times as well.

Multi-lingual is never easy.

Noin.

They Should give Anissa a lucrative job translating then; before they "cross" one to many times and bork things up even worse (its possible :D ) .

So, your theory is that Jessica said something like "Episode 2 should have compelling story based content that does not involve mandatory PvP"

But the devs understood "Episode 2 should involve pwning your sister?"

It is all much clearer now.

LOOOOOL :D :D

no, the CSR/CM team, when you look at job request, are fluent in english. I think it's more about the dev team, or old employee -- french people aren't #1 in foreign language :p .

If you are just going to be a wicked nasty evil person with nothing to contribute, please DO NOT EVEN BOTHER.

Your sarcasm and incessant bantering is beyond old at this point. Are you making things better by what you are doing? Do you feel better? You may as well consider your actions on the forum to be PvP in words with RL people. As such, you are as guilty as those you so admitly accuse of ruining your fun and that of others.

Give it up,

Noin.

You know now that I think of it. It might have been an issue from the start even before Jesica. Have to remember the manual was translated most likely from French to English. It could be possible that

PvP combat – “All PvP combat in Ryzom is consensual – that is you cannot be engaged in combat with another player without agreeing to it in some fashion.”

Page –45 of the Ryzom manual.

PvP combat – “All PvP combat in Ryzom is consensual – that is you can stay on Noobie Island to avoid PvP combat. We will never implement PvP there and guarantee you cannot be impacted by PvP, FvF, or even GvG.

PvP combat – “All PvP combat in Ryzom is consensual – that is you cannot be engaged in combat with another player without agreeing to it in some fashion.” However; it is likely you will miss out on 99% of future additions of content to the game.

PvP combat – “All PvP combat in Ryzom is consensual – that is you cannot be engaged in combat with another player without agreeing to it in some fashion.” However you will be severly hampered and inconvienced by the faction wars that will be occuring worldwide. These may include an inability to find goods for sale, and inability to access large portions of the map, general slower advancement in the game due to Increased risk of death penalty and players unwilling to help you.

Ah truth in advertisement would have been nice eh :P

That's not the case morzyr. ;) We actually spend a considerable amount of time each day, gathering your feedback from across the forums, getting it to the right people, discussing it internally and responding to it.

It will not always be possible to turn ideas and suggestions into actual in-game features, or to change existing ones. It isn't always easy satisfying everyone's needs, but we honestly take community feedback very seriously. That's why we've created our dedicated feedback section, the player info section on the official website (where we keep you posted on what's being planned, developed and tested), as well as the regularly published articles outlining upcoming features in greater detail.

Your feedback is massively important to us, so please don't stop letting us know what you think should be changed or improved, for instance here: http://www.ryzom.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=84 .

Awww, Noin...we are back to this again.

I used a lighter to warm the shriveld black heart I keep in a box on my desk at being called "a wicked evil nasty person." I do what I can, I suppose :)

Who knows, though; I might be making things better.

I don't really feel better...since the game is still going in the wrong direction.

The only equivilent answer I can think up to the charge of me being a forum ganker is, If you don't like my posts, don't go there...I guess. (of couse, if someone came back and said that would mean denying themselves important forum content, i would have to, again, warm my shriveled heart) :P

And I will give it up, eventually. Soon, my guildmates will leave the game for something meaningful. My IG friends will find something that has a storyline separated from the ganking.

In short, Nevrax will close the English server because it is deserted.

Then, I will give it up.

Until then, if I give you someone to hate, I am glad to be of service.

Lawrence, here is the deal...

Nobody from Nevrax or Jolt is posting in those forums with answers.
You close a thread, point us there, and there is silence.
WTH? Seriously?
Give us some hope here. Something that will make the droves that hit ye ol' cancele buttonne change thier minds.
