Mercenary,
Although I cannot buy your faith and devotion to Jena with dappers, the work needs to be done and the temple must be constructed. Your past deeds speak for you and your hands are those of a true worker. We will discuss the payments plus expenses and who knows, maybe our ways make you see the light and embrace Jena's true love for hominkind.

Not all of us can change the way the 'factions' see us as easily as Rashan, but if you can keep your forces off us some of the rest of us may be available for Kitin protection - for a substantial fee.

Dear Miani,
Things are not looking good for hominkind. Tales of horror and warmongery are been told at the tranquil tryker, homins are afraid, scared of something that may be happening soon (tm), instead of the good old kitin stories uncle Freddo used to tell me when picks were too heavy for me to hold -- I always thought the great kinchers fight were more like hard kipees, you know how he used to exagerate, but I loved them -- but well, time will tell.
But, let me tell you about this mercenary, Raghun - I still can't remember his name properly - I saw his public post on Yrkains Gazebo and I thought I could spend part of my well earned dappers to favor the construction of the temple. The first contact was weird. Not only he's a fyrosian, but he did look rude and he was dressed with blue rags. He smelt worse than the stable guy, and his manners were those of a monkey. I was almost ashamed of being seen in public in that company. But I was wrong. My thoughts about him being a spy for the Kami were soon gone. He mumbled something half apology - half justification about having been digging (probably he's to aggressive or no one has taught him how to play in the dirt without getting dirty) and we met at FairHaven bar after he took a bath...
My first impressions are very positive... he's a hard worker, and my fears about wasting my daps on an inept or incompetent goon are unjustified. I am impressed, he manages to extract perfect ambers form Aelus with the care of the finest Prime Root foragers, fights with courage using a pike and has been trained in the arts of healing.... who would have said so when I almost took him for a beggar when he waved at me! We don't talk much, sometimes not at all, busy as we are with our duties, but we are starting to get used to each other's company. He expresses satisfacton when the job is well done, and I think he's proud and he has a past he does not want to share. Most times we just harvest and he nods when I request specific tasks.
I am not sure how long I'll be able to afford his services, the risk of death and the dangers of the tasks are valid arguments for his high fees and my purse is getting lighter. Again, we shall see.
I would gladly recommend his services to any Matisian or Tryker wealthy homin, last thing we want is some Kami signing a contract with Raghun.
Love,

Well my first contract is over, and very profitable it was indeed. I won't lie to you, a few old friends had to be attacked, a few old enemies healed and lots of materials dug for the Yrkanis temple to Jena. I feel like I made a real contribution to their cause.
"Traitor" you say? "Jena-worshipper"? Not at all, my beliefs are firmly in dapper, and I am completely loyal to getting as much of it as I can. If there's one thing I intend to do during this war, it's to get richer and not suck-up to any so-called gods. But now this job is over and I may find more profitable work on the other side.
What's this though? A letter from Anders...

Mercenary,
Seeing your contract run out as the peace broke, and many of my "fellow" karavaneers pulling out of AD due to the constant fighting and kamis increasing in numbers for the same reason, i felt i had to do what i could to try to restore some sort of balance. I am therefor investing on behalf of my people to have you fight and dig with us as war yet again continues. Looking forward to see you among us, payment will be dealt with as agreed.
Anders.
