Ok, Id like to start out this thread by warning you all that you might find the content of what Im going to write rather offensive. For that I apologise, but Im actually trying to be helpful.
This is about my view on the whole episode2 thingie (oh no, not another one of those).
When I step into the old lands (or anywhere on Atys soil actually) I like to divide the population therein into two categories.
1. Friends
2. Npc:s
Friends are those appearing on my friends-list. The Npc:s are those that doesnt (this for those of you who doesnt get it, includes players). The Npc:s are a mixture of friendly ones and unfriendly ones. Some of them help my faction, some of them dont.
I play PvE.
But hmm, some of my friends are actually members of the opposing faction. What to do, what to do? Well, they are only one tell away so I ask them "do you want to play war with me"? This helps avoid the bad feeling i would get for killing friends in battle. If they say no, I wont kill them... but I cant promise my faction members wont.
I play consensual PvP.
I have a feeling that if Nevrax had given us a zone (or even four separate ones) where we could not kill eachother, and instead replaced us (in a sense) with Npc:s doing the dirtywork (attacking diggers, defending diggers, pulling aggro and so forth) the complaints would be almost non-existing.
This would still be war.
New content.
A chance to gain honorpoints by killing these Npc:s.
This would be exactly the same game. Exactly the same thing that we have now... if you look at it my way.
I have spoken to some of my friends and made up rules for us to follow in this new area. Some of them want to play war, some of them dont. I respect both ways and fit them into my picture of the game.
There, sorry if this clashes with someone elses view on this whole deal... but I hope it helps someone... if only one its worth it....
*bows respectfully*
