Actually Had Fun With the Event :)

IC
Hominists from across Atys, sick and tired of the war and its attendent nastiness, strange behaviour and undermining of true Atysian culture and peace - met tonight and then proceeded into the Aelius Dunes and staged a protest.
'Kami' and 'Karavan' digging side by side in peace, unmolested for the majority of the time by the fanatics of either side and dealing only with kinchers, protecting diggers from all 'sides' so that the temples can be built and homin of all races and creeds can benefit from the knowledge to be revealed.
In the end it took a three way combined assault by the fanatics of the Kami and the Karavan, along with many kinchers, to dislodge this peaceful protest. Which only validates the exercise all the more since, in effect, the warring 'sides' had to cooperate - showing that it can be done.
If there has been any honour gained in this 'war' at all it belong solely to those brave homin who stood together, joined hands and said 'No'. If I had a hat it would be off to them.
My chest swells with pride knowing that there are Fyros who have not forgotten how to be guardians. That there are Tryker who have not forgotten freedom. That there are Zorai who have not forgotten wisdom. That there are Matis that have not forgotten noblesse oblige.
I am proud of us all.
OOC
Despite the OOC heckling, the small-minded problem children attacking the peace lobby several times and a lot of insults being flung (Just more firmly securing my opinion of PvP in place). I had a great time with this. I hope there are some screenshots taken to share, I hope the guides that came and looked at us got the hint and I hope Nevrax will pay attention to this demonstration and take a 'third way' into account in forthcoming events more effectively.
Even if nothing is done at all, even if this is ignored it restores my faith that the 'spirit of Atys' is alive and well, just a bit sickly.
The only fun I've had with this event so far. Well done to everyone and +1,000,000 style points to Evo even if this goes over a lot of people's heads.
*sniffle* I'm tearing up

Seconded. It was sad that we were unable to heal friends and teammates just because they happened to have a different kind of fame, but with cross-team and cross-faction cooperation we were able to overcome.

I would like to thank all who participated and made this event a far greater success than I had ever imagined.
And I, like J, hope this message get across.

Yes, I too am proud to have been involved in tonights activities. The co-operation of those that started it and of those that later joined was a wonderful sight to see. Kami and Karavan digging side by side, sharing sources, protecting each other form the kitin.
I would also like to thank those that at first came and attacked and then stopped when they realised what was happening. Some even stayed and joined in for some time. I will not name anyone, you know who you are and you were part of probably one of the uniquest events ever on Atys.
Now what shall we do next.........

I was proud to stand guard for this show of solidarity, even with my limited combat skills.
Something occured to me whilst guarding - for the first time since the new land was open to us i had a few moments that werent filled with bloodshed to look arround and marvel at the fact that we were stood in the old lands.

Wonderful, I wish that I could have been there too.
It sounds to me as though my hopes may be realised; that we are able to respect each others desires to play the way that we like, most of the time at least, without the need for game mechanics to enforce them.

*bows* to team-mates, fellow trykers, and cross faction friends. This was truely the most amazing bit of team work i had ever witnessed, and proud to be part of. also much respect to homins who were nervous about it and passed leaving us alone and respecting us as homins and not as sides in some unjust holy war. new bonds and friends were made in the most unlikly place. Respect to the community

Thirded (if thats even a word). Only downside was when I accidentally gained 3 "honor" points for the kami, but after much thinking and experimenting...I am now "honor" point free. *goes all giddy*
Thank you everyone, especially the team I was in, for making this a very pleasant and fun evening. Just holler my way when it's time to do it again.

I'm very happy that you guys were able to pull this up... As a matter of fact I wanted to join you guys, but I was at work...
What I don't quite understand is the feeling I'm getting from the responses to this thread... Is as if that mini-event actually acomplished something unique or different...
The fact is that all that happen was that a "3rd Faction" was artificially created, a faction whose only pourpose was to keep the diggers alive... In fact what happen is no different to what
this homin discribes.
Personally I thing that only 2 real things were accomplished/proved:
- The developer's vision,
the true spirit of this even if you will, is team work. Right before the zone was open at each city, the
"Faction Representatives/Developers" took the homins to the zones and explained what Kami/Jena was expecting from each one of us... Diggers dig, Fighters and Mages protect the diggers, and crafters use the mats provided by the diggers to build the Temples.
(Edit: After reading this I'm starting to think that this is an event aimed towards harvesters and crafters, and the PvP was put in place to give fighters and mages something to do...)
- A 3rd Faction should have been implemented... The Neutral Faction. We homins have been asking for it for a long time, and as matter of fact there are many, many Guilds that describe themself as
Neutral. Personally I think of myself as Neutral, but my Guild follows Kami so I respect that.
Anyways, once again too bad I wasn't able to be part of this event and I'm happy to see that homins are willing to fight for what they believe, even if that goes against their gods... It's also a shame that the resources acquired can't be use to build a 3rd set of Temples... A Temple that welcomes all Homins.

Yep was strange and interesting. In fact it might well have set off the chain of events that brings us to our current status in the 'old lands'. Now, instead of just running like loonys from one side to another with murder on our minds, our most important goal is temple building.
So protecting diggers and their spots seems to be far more important to us than a few personal honour points for killing someone. Now that the intial excitement is dying down this is shaping up to be something good I think. And all this has taken place in just 3 days. Imagine 1 or 2 weeks from now. So all you doubters and unsubscribers, just stop right there, and WATCH.
