Players leaving because of recent events

Before I start, this is not a post about whether FvF is good or bad, whether PvP is good or bad thats being done to death in other threads I just thought as the devs etc read these posts and occasionaly they reply within the threads it may invite some comments from them.
So far today I have seen 3 players either leave, not renew or plan to not renew their subscriptions because of E2 which to me is very worrying. I know of others who have already done the same and there seems to be plenty of other players considering the same. I am sure other players can also testify to this. Now considering the rocky financial slope that has existed for quite some time it makes me wonder....
Question 1: How many subscribing players are there?
Question 2: What is the minimum number of subscribing players required to "break even"?
Question 3: Was this type of reaction (players leaving) anticipated at all prior to E2 going live and if so was the plan to attact more new players to replace them?
Question 4: Is E2 primarily designed to attract new players or to satisfy the longer term players?
Question 5: If the subscribing player base continues to fall and there is a shortfall in new players subscribing will the focus move away from PvP type content?
Question 6: If the subscribing player base increases because of E2 will the focus shift more towards PvP type content?
I better stop there I think, I look forward (hopefully) to some comments from the powers that be

I've decided not to until I've seen R2.
This isn't as devastating in numbers as Patch 1 was, however...
The casualties this time are amongst the homin who were the life and soul of Atys during the great 'content' drought of 2005. The people who kept it going, kept the faith, pulled people together and made an empty landscape into a world.
There may be less of them but the impact of their loss may be just as significant. Even more so.

They will be missed and the less of them there are, the less reason for me to stay.....

there are not that many people leaving, the forums do not represent the full community in the slightest. people come and go all the time. I have quite alot of new faces about these day as long as a lot of old ones returning. There is a select group who are moaning and so forth if it upsets them that much why dont they just leave and stop ruining it for the people who really have a more layed back view of what is a 'game'.
In light of all of this i do not think i have seen the players band together so much as much they have done since the release peoples guilds have been put aside and people are working together on different projects. Even the pvp, i have a great time having a laugh with the oposition as do they i am always chatting with them. The fact of the matter is you cant please everyone who plays the game its impossible.
I am getting fed up of these forums all people do is complain and its always the same people i think i will leave the forums alone from now on as they just do my head in.

Your ability to ignore all that doesn't suit you is amazing you must be one happy puppy...
That is until reality sneeks up on you from behind and stabs you in the back....

What I do not understand is why these long time players just quit this game that they loved for so long ... after a few days of "new" content ...
Why just not wait and see ... maybe just maybe you could get the surprise of your life

Dan man, I hear ya.
I don't mind so much when people point out bugs/ways of improvement..
but when they moan big time about something thats been implimented which they're not interested in it's annoying.. selfish buggers.

Because it indicates a direction the game is head, represents broken promises and makes a lie of promises like 'listening to the players' and letting them influence the direction of the story (significantly).
Like I said, R2 for me, make or break, but the people who'd likely appreciate it the most are the ones already going.
