Honour, what is it?

I am looking for a correct meaning of the word honour.

Lemme see, what does Wikipedia comes up with:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Honour
"Honour (CwE) or honor (AmE) comprises the reputation, self-perception or moral identity of an individual or of a group."

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Honour_system
"A person engaged in a honor system has strong negative connotations associated with breaking or going against it. The negatives may include things like community shame, loss of stature, or in extreme situations, banishment."

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bushido
"Seven virtues associated with bushido
– Gi – Rectitude (Right Decisions) (Should be Justice and Morality)
– Yu – Courage
– Jin – Benevolence
– Rei – Respect
– Makoto – Honesty
– Meiyo – Honor,Glory
– Chūgi – Loyalty "

Where can I fit in the killing of diggers, the pulling of kinchers or the camping of the gates of the opposing side? Can somebody help me out on this one?

Well nevrax uses the American spelling so it's honor not honour that should be an indication...

That seems to fit, as far as I can tell. Seeing it from the perspective of the karavan, the kami and their followers are the enemy. As the course of dealing with the enemy and disposing of it, does what the karavan wants, and thereby it is honour.
I do not agree with the actions, but that doesn't make it less honourable for them.

And it is morally right to kill an unarmed Homin? Both sides are wrong in this.

Still amazes me how closely this story matches Babylon 5. I say we tell the Shadows (Karavan) and Vorlons (Kami) to "get the hell of our planet". ;)

The problem with morality (and related issues) is that they are defined within a group, if another group has another definition of morality, the groups won't, and possibly can't, agree on what is morally right.
To pick a real life example (uh oh, politics here we go), slavery was once an accepted practice in many societies, today very few (if any) accepts it in any form.

But to answer your question, no I don't think it is, but apparently there is a group in SoR that does...

Sad but true. It is a black day for Hominkind. :(

This new area is not really a place for diigging for personal gain or bright new armour, it's for collecting building mats for the Karavan/Kami. When you help one you make an enemy of the other. Quite simply guys it's a warzone. You go there to battle whether armed with nuke or pick. On the bright side though it'll probably free up the PR a bit for ya.

Kodel.

You missed out a few parts here...

One, it's a PVP war zone (and yes you can have a warzone withput PvP think kitin invasions)

Two, it's yet an other place non PvPers "aren't supposed to go"

Tbh though, i think the size of the non-PvP areas compared to the PvP areas is outbalanced by, mmm let's see 1000-1. That doesn't sound overly harsh to me. Does it to you?

More like a murderzone. It's where you go to gank unarmed foragers in the name of your 'god'.

It's for spewing forth your l33t speak on region and promising to kick someone's small donkey*.

Shame we had no choice over WHICH side we helped. I agree we sort of did when we made the choice to do Kami or Karavan fame missions. What I don't agree with is not having the choice to help BOTH sides against our true enemy - the Kitin.

By only 'rewarding' the ganker's, Nevrax gave us only one option - senseless killing.

* this is humour for those that have none ;)
