I have a few questions about the new way jewelery protects you from spells. First off, does it only protect you from actual spells, or does it also protect against spell like effects? For example, would resistance to blindness only help with the actual spell, or would it also help against gingos kicking up dirt? Second, one of the spells listed under lake resistance is "knock out". Is that the same as stun? If not, then what is it?

It would be hard to tell if resistance to blindness also helps against gingos kicking up dirt, because resistance is hard to test. You'd need to have dirt kicked up to you about 100 times with and without resistance to accuratly see any differences. But I assume it doesn't. Why do I assume that? Because last I checked (which was right after the last patch) the jewelry protections didn't protect against spell like special attacks, like the kincher's lightning.
As far as I know "knock out" means "stun".

mates 2 things : PROTECTIONS adn RESISTANCES
1. Protections- (max 70%) reduces dmg from certain spell type ( acid, poison, fire ect.) and they work Uber great either with PvP and with ie DoT poison spells from great Jugs at HG . Also a part of dmg that get through ur Protections is neturalised by Absorbtion (but no idea how so far;p)
2. Resistances - r chances to avoid being hited by certain ecosystem spells (forest, esert ect.) this is some kind of test before spell hits and depends on few things like level of spell, difference between ur lev and spell lev ect. and this imo is hard to see in action but works.

Did you confirm that protection works against jugula DoT? Because it didn't for me. Even if I had protection against all seven elements it still did the full damage.
And "absorption"? What's that?

Absorption is the amount of damage you can absorb.
Jug DOT isn't a spell out of the seven elements

Ah, that absorption. That doesn't work in addition to protection, it just gives the maximum that protection can absorb. Same how the "max vs slash/blunt/pierce" works for armor. 70% protection against 1000 damage with max absorption of 300 will only absorb 300 damage.
True. Neither is the ocyx flamethrower apparently.
But even against special attacks that are one of the seven elements, jewelry protection still doesn't protect.

OKi i will be back to Hg soon and we will run the tests with DoTs..
And u sure Absorbtion is connected with protections?
