There's nothing we can do.

Roadrunner is working to solve the problem, but they gave no time estimate. Just have to wait.....

http://www.help.rr.com/HMSLogic/network_status.aspx

The error is under "Internet Connectivity"

I'll post here when it's up, and I think the'yre keeping an eye on it in Klients too.

I use them, but I'm concerned, because the two issues they have up are other things. I'm online right now, and seem to have internet access everywhere, it just won't patch...

Going to call them and hope I get someone savvy who could give me some useful info...

All the techs have now is that "many websites" are unreachable, and it's affecting RR all over the country. So that would mean the patching server is in a completely different location from the web, klient, and game servers?

Can anyone with a firewall see if a unique IP is hit during patch checking? If not, our Ryzom problem is unrelated to RR's.

Not sure I know much about what you just said but I think I gathered this:

It's just the patching process that doesn't work, whether it be because of RR or something else.

Hopefully I found a solution for myself then- since I play on a laptop and go to college but have an apartment off campus, I can just patch on campus then go home and play.

I'll let you know if it works. :)

Running the command "netstat -a" in a command prompt in windows, will show you what connections your network has (leave out the "" in the command).

(Command prompt = press [Start], choose [Run] and type: cmd [Enter])

I posted this in the General section as well...

My husband informed me that, as of yesterday, two major internet backbones, Cogent and L3, have had a disagreement and their websites will not be interacting anymore, at least in the short term.

My husband works for Roadrunner and they are aware of the problem but since it's outside companies, it's not Roadrunner causing the problem.

Hopefully, this will be resolved soon but, as said, no ETA yet.

Many websites will be affected, unfortunately.

That would explain why I couldn't access some site from my comp at work. I2 have RR and assume I will experience the same problem when I get home. I guess Speedy will have to spend another day in AoI. :)

I hope this gets resolve today.

Ok, there is possibly something you can do if you're having this problem:

Use any other possible internet connection to patch the game. Take computer to neighbor, or use a dialup connection of a friend or possibly yourself. Anything besides Roadrunner.

It's just the patching that doesn't work. So once the game is patched, you can connect through Roadrunnner fine to play.

I'm just back from campus where I patched on my laptop and am logging into game now with no hassles.

Hopefully that will help some of you! :)
