Where is the old lands?

Who am I ?
You are a young homin refugee. You have taken the long and perilous journey from the old lands to these new lands where we have established our new realm.
Where is the "old lands"? I wrongly assumed it was the hiding place in Prime Roots.

Would it be a place somewhere on the planet that now have become poisoned or something? Are there any names of towns in the "old world" mentioned somewhere? Was the civilizations living separated from each other? How much of the planet do we see in game today?

Many questions, but it seems I made some errors in my characters background and would like to change it ASAP.

David Cohen Corval wrote:Today, we have less than 5 % of Atys open for exploration (okay, that’s a bit frustrating, but it’s also exciting for the future, don’t you think?). What you as the Homin civilizations are, in fact, is just a small portion of the true Homin presence on Atys. The past Homin Nations were wider. As an example, I’ll just say that there are the Dark Matis and the Fyros Nomads who follow the herds of huge elephant like creatures which carry the Fyros villages carved in their shell.
This is what David said here: http://ryzom.com/?page=news&id=865

I may be wrong but as I understand it, the kitins trashed the homin cities and some homins escaped through "teleportation rainbows" to elsewhere (Prime Roots? "new lands"?), but the rest that didn't remained in the old lands, becoming nomadic and living in constant fear of kitin attack. So that means there are two parallel homin civilizations, one in the old lands and one in the new. That are known, anyway.

The old Tryker lands were called Trykoth, where the Trykers, probably the greatest seafarers of the ancient world, lived in floating villages in the lake lands. Their principle cities, all ports, included Jeniah and Breneth. They formed a myriad of tribes, with each tribe being headed by a counsel whose duty it was to settle disputes and keep the peace.

As for those unknown lands, I have a hope that some of it may be revealed in Episode 2. We should know more from Thursday 6th onwards (if the French public transport strike doesn't push it back too much.)

Thank you all. I think I got it now, finally.

Gosh, I hate finding out that my character's background is flawed. Background is almost as important as the personality of a character.

I wonder what the sea-kitins looks like. If there are none, the Trykers should have been safe at sea, yes?

Ah, you mean these guys...

Hey, we're Trykers. We got brains. We always keep a Fyros near who can't swim very fast. Usually call him bait.
