Hello my q is an armor one. I am concentrating on magery and was wondering if heavy armor would affect my casting time or decrease my performance. Should i stay with light or go medium or heavy? Thanks for any help

All armor pieces except light (that is, medium and heavy) have a penalty value. That means that all actions are affected: cast time is increased, sap and hp consumption increased, range is reduced,etc. (this also applies to other activities like crafting or harvesting) the factor depending on the total 'malus' or penalty (penalty is additive, sum armor and weapons). The majority of casters use light armor, in some cases medium for some configurations, but you'll rarely see someone in heavy armor cast spells, except in special cases or to heal/rez
