The FvF Zones...

...simply must be removed.

There appears to be no logic in thier placement, and I have not heard of a single intentional account of thier use.
They are pointless and annoying, do nothing to add to the quality of the game, and seem to have been thoughtlessly implemented.

The Faction vs Faction zones, or FvF, assign friend and enemy status to players based on thier Kami/Karavan fame points.

One blinding admittion that the zones do not work is the fact that fame for those factions is being changed to only use the value of personal fame. Meaning that right now, for any player that has both factions at negative or positive fame, these zones simply will not work as intended. That alone should be enough reason to remove the FvF zones immediatly.

The FvF zones will split up team and guild members into opposing factions. This, in itself, would not be so bad; however, if a teammate is killed by a mob or a misplaced attack, you can not heal them if they are part of the opposing faction.

Please keep in mind before commenting on the importance of have guild or team mates with the correct fame allignment that fame does not work correctly for these factions.

Please turn off the FvF zones until they are in a working state. It should be painfully obvious that if a person is a member of my team or guild, they are certainly not my enemy, and I should be able to heal them if they have fallen.

Ehm,...

if I remember correctly, it was the original intend of impelenting them to find out about such Quirks you mention.
So, don“t be too hard on judgement. and "suggest" your findings to the Devs. ;)

If they are temporary testing zones then the proper place for them would be the ATS, not the production servers.

the fame changes are on the ats now, so this problem will be solved shortly. At least as quickly as removing them :)

We have used them to look at the fame of recruits although that was mainly due to the chance of passing through them at the time. You might get a false negative for testing for, say, Kami fame but can you get a false positive?

I always thought raising personal Kami fame, caused personal Karavan to fall (with global and guild fame meaning you can have overall negative or positive fame for both) and vice-versa. Is this wrong?

Regardless, they are two very small areas. Sawdust Mines isn't exactly a popular region anyway so what's the big deal?

It would be nice if there was an event that supported them though. Maybe that was the intention before the fame bug was found? Maybe someone should organise one ;)

Personaly i say remove the darn things. Why even bother takeing them OFF the test servers if THERE NOT DONE. Even then no one wants them, so why bother. All ive seent them do so far is make trecks that have to cut though them a REAL pain. Heck half the time i cant even heal some one in my group EVEN WHEN I SOULD BE ABLE TOO, let alown if the group/guild memeber is on a different fame. And then they continue to cause problems EVEN after we leave the zone and the 120 seconds are way up.

Please please please, just get read of the darn things. They have caused me enough in game greef and ive never even been attacked in one buy anouther player yet, it just make haveing to take a group though one VERY VERY ANOYING.

I was very dissapointed to see that the FvF zones have still not been implemented in any thoughtful way.

There is still no sanity to thier placement.

But most of all, If someone is a member of my team or guild, they are not my enemy, despite thier fame score. It is just that simple. I should be able to heal team and guild members no matter where we are.

Until this most basic and logical of changes is made to the FvF zones, I strongly request that they be removed.

In a faction vs. faction zone, surely being in your team or guild is irrelevant - it's down to your faction?

Otherwise in a FvF battle, you could just have a Kami supporter in your Karavan team/guild and he could rez you. You'd be effectively invincible, could kill the other faction, then your Kami guild/teammate allows you to kill him. Karavan wins.

I'd quite like to be able to change my faction on a whim so I can work for either side for the highest paying party. I don't think that's going to be easy to do and will probably not fit in with the future of Ryzom, I'll probably ditch that plan. I reckon having your whole guild with the same faction is going to be a good thing (guild rewards) and having personal faction fame high (well one of them ;) ) will also be beneficial via Episode 2 missions.

Another bonus of these zones now is that people can see how uber you are. I'm an excellent purple boss apparently :p

Now that global faction fame is the same as personal there shouldn't be the fame problems there were before. Pretty soon these zones will cover everywhere for some people and be gone for others IIRC.
