Raise the Jolly Roger, for tribute is sailing our shores! Will ye be a pirate, get your landlubber knees to Fairhaven bar to taste the salt and teach the speak.

Will ye walk the plank or be a Captain fir yeself? Grip yer tongue and roll the ropes for the pirates will speak and ye will speak as us!

Ok. What is going to happen today?

It will be an event in which you need a fast tongue and sharp brains, cause you will have to insult the other pirate-talker-wannabees.

The two contestants face each other and one starts to make an insult at the other contestant, who has to show he is a real pirate and makes a witty eply.

example:
Clever insult: Arrr.. Me have spoken with Gibbais more polite than ye!
Witty reply: Me be glad ye have been attendin' yer familly reunion, harr harr.
now where have you heard those sentences before...

Both of the persons make 2 insults, and therefore has to reply twice too.
After that a completely independant jury *cough* will tell who the winner of
the round is. The winner will then go to the next round.

Ofcourse saying the insult in real pirate talk might give you a small bonus (or a big one, as maybe your opponent might not understand you at all...)

One important rule, the insults are supposed to be clever and witty, and it is not meant to shout words like f*cker etc to your oppinion. But if you do, your chance of getting any further in the competition will be getting quite small...

EDIT: Thanks to Pegleg(aka Drakfot) and Jyudas for making a great show of it, even while we had no real tournament. Great sharp replies and really great to hear.

I wasn't planning on seeing this, but I was in the area at the time and I just found myself pulled there Despite things not going to your plan, there was still some fun to be had and it filled a spot where I wasn't really sure what to do with myself. So thanks to all involved
