24 hours of Ryzom

I spent the last 24 hours concentrating on learning the game.

I'm beat hehe. I wish I had the energy to make a long post and add screenies, but everyone has seen the game from in here anyway.

It's fun. Ah, the first critical aspect of a GAME.

It's relatively easy to learn. Another important aspect of gaming. Ease of learning is not tied to lack of content, as some other game companies assume. If one has to spend hours at a time researching their next step while not logged in to the game, then the developers have failed.

I got completely dominated by what I thought was a level 3 critter I had a mission for. And I didn't care. Instead, I went and got 21/21, went back and got killed again lol. Ah well, while harvesting back at the newb village, a group I was in finished it for me.

The community is just awesome. I can't say enough about that, but like I said I'm tired.

The artwork is absolutely fantastic. The sunsets and nights are just beautiful, I already have tons of screenies. Usually, I don't care about the art as long as the gameplay is good, but I just can't get over it. Well done.

The game is stable. Only once in 21/21/19/21 did it burp, a critter that wouldn't die and let me loot it. I thought it was lag, it wasn't. So, just a bug I guess.

The negatives:

Haven't found any.

Off to bed.

He sounds like a Tryker to me. Stubborn, harvesting, crafting and heavily fond of the artwork. Must be a Tryker.

Hey, why not contact me ingame, we might have room in the guild for another crazy digger!

Grtz

Matis. I'm in a guild already. Apparently, people have been recruiting heavily in anticipation of guild outposts.

I'm going to spend a little time today and try to find missions that I can solo, and get more skills up. I don't even know if those are available yet, like I said I'm new. But that would be my top wishlist right now. Missions that allow me to explore the new land without all that great of a danger yet, just to get used to the place, that would prove real balance in the game play.

In their absense though, I'm sure the guild could point me in the right direction.

To a young Matis, just one advice: beware of the rabid doggies...

If you like gimme a yell in game and I'll gladly grab a couple of my guildies and we'll give you alittle tour of matis. Running around solo can be dangerous so we'll happily protect you so you can see the great land you live in now and the game you're clearly now addicted to :D

You can get as far as TB (Towerbridge) on your own for a quick taste/look at some other creatures and stuff.

Start @ Yrk gate > Turn left (Don't follow road) > On the map follow the edge of the cliff working your way around it (Watch out for the one dog, should be able to skip him) > head for the Arena entrance, go past it and you'll find yourself on the road.
From here you can pop in to Natae or carry on to the right, cutting off the corner on the left side (with the big roots coming out of the ground) to avoid the dogs on crossroads.
After that it should be happy sailing. :)

Ah yes Kostika good thinking, there's an interesting place in the Sawdust Mines area, another in the Knoll of Dissent. I'd be quite happy to show your faction, I mean, you around these for free. You should however bring some dapper for, er, teleport tickets...

(OOC: welcome :) )

Ahh... you are on mainland now ? *sigh* Yrkanis is not the best place to prove balance ;) Although the Matis are quite good gardeners, they have a little problem with Ragus there.

Whats your Chars name ?
