Fastest Way to re-install

I am soon going to be upgrading my PC, including a new HD. This will mean I need to re-install Ryzom.

I was wondering if anyone had any tips for making the patch process shorter. For example, I have the boxed version of the game but there have been many, many patches since then. Is there somewhere to get a later version of the install? How recent is the game download found here?

I don't want to have to wait days to patch! :)

Any tips/help are greatly appreciated.

I think the version you download from the site is patched through to Feb. So you'll still have to patch and the download is 1GB in size anyhow. So depending on your net speed, this may still be about the same amount of time spent downloading..

copy your current version to some other place and later onto the new hd, ryzom runs straight from the directory and doesn't need any install procedures

pack your Ryzom direcotry and you have latest installer :-)

FYI, if you like your settings and landmarks, then dont forget to get/backup Ryzom\Save folder.

Cool, I'll give that a try when the time comes. I did know about backing up the save folder, but didn't know you could save the whole thing.

Thanks for the replies.

Quick update because I think this info is useful.

I can confirm also that this works. I did it last night without a single problem. Simply copy the Ryzom directory from your old HD to your new one. Then you can run the game as normal. :)

Thanks for the tip Xenofur, saved me loads of effort. :)
