It is very possible... at least for the first 60-70 lvls (havent gotten much further yet). On the other hand, as you are new to the game, you might want to find some good natured soul (shouldnt be too hard in this game) to help you with vital information (such as, how to lvl effectively solo) but still dont force you to join his/hers guild :D

Good luck ;)

Solo is fine, but due to the lack of quests (as found in most other games), you will have nothing in game to do except kill da mobs repeatedly. Or dig matierals repeatedly.

Travelling is very hard solo, because the mobs start very hard right by the safe areas. It is very hard to travel untill you have a good 100 levels under yer belt or are very sneaky. If you join a guild, howerver, you are more likely to be shown the safe routes or be given protection on trips.

Because levelling is much slower solo (on the whole) you may get bored killing the same things over and over and having to have rests between fights. Most of the 'content' of the planet at the moment is player generated, so not joining an active guild could make it harder to find the action.

Some of that is just my opinion tho.

The only thing you can't level alone is healing (when it splits into a seperate magic branch), the rest is quite possible albeit very slow at the higher branches.
You don't have to join a guild (it has its pros and cons), but you should consider teaming with others for magic and warrior levels, as it become safer and more interesting.

It depends on what you think what is "work alone". Solo gaming or trying to be autonomus ?

Solo gaming is partly possible. The higher the levels are the slower you progress. As healer you do not earn a single xp point solo, of course.

I am guildless since i entered the game, but i teamed a lot for hunting. Without a guild you have to work a lot. I think you must be a harvester and a
crafter. You must dig and craft a lot, and i mean a lot :D , to keep your crafting equal to your skills. I bought and still buy equipment from others, but after 7 months i slowly reach the point where i can craft all i need *sigh*

Well, it doesnt take 7 months, but when you are new to the game you might waste time on the wrong crafting skills ;) . And i should add that i do level 2H sword, pike, magic and sometimes ranged. Which is a lot.

If you really want to try it, go for it.

BTW: Send a tell or an ingame mail when ever you need a little support. :)
