Can't say I understood more than the bare basics of the article at first read, but it looks interesting so far.

Tests begin in November, didn't Jessica M. say that?

With regard to the "rare content":
There are, however a certain number of packages of rarer content to which one can gain access via a number of different means.
Could you give us some feedback on whether you plan for this to be purchasable or will it be related to a pioneer's success in some way?

Other than that, it all sounds great :D I can't wait till beta begins :)

They've hinted at both those being viable means. If you're good, get it for free. If not, buy it.

Of course an updated official word would be great

There is that issue.
For the Ring to be really successful, it should offer methods of advancement.
Distributing player crafted items isn't really advancment, it is more of a transfer of something to another person, it doesn't add to the total.

I understand completly the need to guard against explotation, but the ability to leave Ring modules with more than you went in there with is going to be neccisary.

Still, it would be something other than the grind, and I am all for that.

I love the bit about Olivier controlling the Gingo boss and his minions. I didn't think that such a level of precise control would be possible. Very exciting stuff!
