New Executive Producer's Letter, Aug 22

Jessica Mulligan, Executive Producer for Saga Of Ryzom, has just published a new letter to the players. In today's issue she talks about the latest press release and takes a moment to thank the Ryzom community for its long-lasting support and close friendship. :)

Thank you. Thank you for the extended/free month of play, thanks for reassuring us, thanks for acknowledging the player base has been patient, and thanks for giving (although we understand tentative) us dates for incoming features. I am aware that unexpected bugs or balance issues may alter the definitive release, but at least we have something a bit more concrete.

Hi Jessica,
Good news about the content & good news about the free month. However, how can Nevrax afford to do this when it obviously needs the cash inflow. This gesture will cost between £40,000 to £60,000 (estimated) and I would rather Nevrax had it if it was going to help secure future development.

The only possible scenario I can see that fits this move is if you have a potential buyer for SoR and you are trying to retain as large a client base as poss before takeover. That could also be good news but.......

Nope, we aren't grooming ourselves for a sale, :) . Take it just as we offered it; as a thank you for sticking with us while we got it together.

people who start a trial account now will probly get the extra month too, which could make em more interested.. ;)
