Active links

Hello, I have some questions about active links windows:
- whenever u estabilish a new link with a mob, a row in the active links window will appear. In that row you can see there are 3 numbers..what does they mean ?
- Some spells (like root) will last for some time even when the link is broken. Is this a bug ?
- What should I do to feed the link? It seems to me that it is a little random..sometimes link last long (long = 3 or 4 seconds
), sometime it brokes in less than a second. I've done some testing using the same DoT spell on the same mob (capryini 2x eheh) but the results are random. Sometimes the link will last long, sometimes it will break almost immediatly.
- Link is broke whenever I move/cast/sit/attack isnt'it?
- In the future (I mean when level goes up), is there a way to create more than one link at all ?
Thank you

i think only sap is working there atm...
it shows how many sap does spell needs per second (timeframe may be off)

nope

there is rumor that your amp affliction power will determine how long does link last.. and then there is random element.
Damage over Time spells only do damage when they are linked more than 1 sec, sadly ;-(

if you start casting or move more than 50m from target link brokes.
... and probably when you get hit.

dont think it's implemented yet, maybe in some day ;-(

Links break from any movement and any action (except unequipping items or maybe just a step or two) They are very fragile.
They don't break when you are hit though. For example you can stand and hold a madness link on something slashing away at you.
That I know of, Root and Fear are the only ones who's effects can last longer than the link itself. Take advantage of that.
Higher level link spells will definitely hold much longer on the same mob you're using it on now ( I can hold a capryni for like, 5 minutes, when my sap is completely drained, lol) But as you'll need to attack higher mobs link length will always be about the same. Although I've noticed a slightly easier time connecting with links at higher levels.

You don't need to stand still once you have linked! Do you? I regularly put a Root spell on a mob (with a proper link, glowing halo above my head) and then leg it. It lasts just as long as if I was standing still and the link doesn't just break when I move. I've done it with Madness as well! But you have to be linked. Try moving when casting and it won't work.
The link itself depends on your amp power and the enemy you are facing, plus a random factor thrown in to keep things interesting. The higher the amp power in the branch you are using, the better. When I was using a Level 50 amp I was able to get links on mobs over twice my level. I've had people say that Concentration stanzas make the spell link better or for longer but I've not seen any evidence of this.
Best way to get a link (and still get regular xp too, without spamming the action) for every mob is to make sure you stand nice and close to the mob. Just out of melee range. This enables you to throw out spells really quickly as it cuts down on the amount of time spent waiting for the spell to reach the enemy. If a spell links, you stop casting till it fails, if it's resisted you can cast the next one almost immediately. It saves all those moments where I see someone getting a link and then spoiling it by having another spell already being cast from stacking the spell in the 'next action' window.

I didn't test it for OA, but any sleep or stun link I cast is broken when I take a couple steps. Is it possible DA and OA are different?
I mean it lasts a second, it's weird, doesn't break as isntantly as other actions cause it too. But this was on mobs I can hold the link for a minute+ on and in like 10 tries it always broke a second or two after moving.
Hmm....
How about DoT spells? Would it be a good strategy to get an elemental link and then run away?

To my knowledge, only root and fear will last some time even if/when the link is broken.
Other spells (IE: DoT and stunn) will end as soon as the link is broken and, if you move, cast or attack, you break the link

Concentrate effectively increases your affliction level - in just the same way as Accurate Attack in melee actions - so it reduces your targets' chance to resist you. I don't think it makes any difference to whether a stable link is formed once your target has failed to resist, or anything else.
I find I can often walk around quite a bit and still maintain a link, but as soon as I run, the link breaks.

Well, looking at "concentrate" in game description, it state that it will raise your level against "interruption".
To me, it means that it will be harder for a mob to interrupt your casting, for example when the mob is in melee with you.
Anyway I think I will give it a try to see if you're right on this

Mmm this is something I've to try yet..move but not run. Have you tried this with DoT spell or with root/fear ?

Well, looking at "concentrate" in game description, it state that it will raise your level against "interruption".
[
Spell lvl < 100 + Concentrate lvl >200] = [
Mob lvl < 100] (Igara, Off. Oasis) i
nterrupt quite often interrupt casting. HAven't noticed big difference between "with" and "without" concentrate from cast interruption aspect.
Noticeable effect was - spell land often (no link tho) with concentrate, than without.
Looks like atm concentrate works not as described, but :
Concentrate effectively increases your affliction level - in just the same way as Accurate Attack in melee actions - so it reduces your targets' chance to resist you.
