Ranged Questions

First off I read the other thread that discusses ranged questions and concerns... and it got me excited... as i've been playing with ranged lately.

here ya go:

1. Ok, so from what I gather... any ammo regardless of race will work as long as it's consistent with the weapon type... (ie rifle gun and rifle ammo) correct?

2. Launchers and Autolaunchers do a lot more damage... but it will hit 6 targets? always? or can i make it hit only one?

3. I've noticed when crafting guns and ammo... as far as the rifle goes... when i pull up the stats window, it says that the damage is 0 (0).... i used mats that according to the precraft window, gave the gun max damage.... but is this useless?

The only stats i see on the gun are range and speed, so should i use mats that are best for range/speed when crafting the gun, and leave the damage for the ammo? (and ammo has no ranged/speed stat... so do i go all damage with the ammo?)

4. is MA best for ranged, or do i use light, and run away from the target while shooting?

5. Shunafyr, where can i find out more info about your Safaris?

6. Neun said that guns break very fast.... so is it not a good idea to use sup mats in a gun... for leveling purposes?

7. Is there a burning rifle? If so, who makes it?

8. what about the tryker racial pistol, is it any good?

Bowweapons can also use normal ammo. Maybe other way around also, but that would not be as useful.

My, what a lot of questions.

1) Yes. But some ammo (rifle & bowrifle) also seems interchangeable

2) Launcher is AoE so anything within a specific range will take some damage.
Auto is a machine gun. Anything within its narrow spray will be hit if they are within its range. You need to line them up roughly to hit more than one.

3) Atm it appears unimportant. However we are ever hopeful that they will finish the range crafting/usage off as I think they intended. I live in hope.

4) You pays your money & make your choice. Only light armour does not give your stam etc penalties.

5) Shunafyr has accumulated a heck of a lot of mats for the safari. He is thinking of a Sunday about 14:00 us & 19:00 uk. It would be heartening if more people showed your enthusiasm after all the work he has put in. Last time we spoke he had 5,000 mats for ammo & guns. It is possible this Sunday coming if enough Homins want to take part. We could do with some crafters as well to help churn out guns & ammo but both Shun & I can do up to 130/140.

6) Haha. The answer is yes. Are you volunteering to supply the supreme mats? On the practical side, every 10 lvls you upgrade your wep. It should normally last at least that long unless you get it from one of those back street traders that are using copied components.

7) Don't know. I definately don't make a living rifle.

8) Again, you pays your money. I think most racial weps are the same as each other. Just the availability of suitable mats is more difficult in some lands for 99% damage stats. Matis being more difficult than Fyros atm.

I hope that helps & I'm sure you will get corrections if I made any cockups.

If damage stat has no effect on the weapon, what purpose is there to upgrade the weapon every 10 levels?
Why not use a supreme Q20 with max range and speed and just make better ammo every 10 levels?

Will the ammo only do max damage if the weapon Q is equal or above the Q of the ammo? If so, how about just getting as high of Q a weapon as you can hold? (as most ranged fighters do it as a second profession and have a higher Balance from a primary melee fight lvl) And use it for 50 levels or whenever it breaks?

The Damage statistic is a modifier. It will read +0 (0) until you put ammo in the gun, then it will change.

For example if you've got ammo that does.. let's say +x(y), put that in your gun, and the +0 (0) will change to +z (w). Make sense? Basically the damage from your gun is a modifier. If your ammo does 70 (81) and the gun has a damage listing of +20(28) then you would do 90 (109), where 90 is 70 from ammo and 20 from gun's damage modifier, and 109 is the 81 from ammo and 28 from the gun's damage modifier.

Hopefully that made sense, heheh

Now if only they could make this actualy work. right now, weapons are made only for range and durrability, maybie with a dodge bonus tossed in. The ammo is only damage, maybie with some lightness tossed in for $h|ts and giggles.

So does it matter the Q then?

So... is what Zyros said completely untrue, or inactive?

I'm confused... can my gun increase the damage of my shots? Or is that just the ammo?
