To Angels of Atys, Pete and Rushin

It was about november/december 2003 when i first descovered Ryzom i read all the documents of this vague yet promising world in the making(a living one!!), there also was this option to register for beta participation with the strangest NDA ive ever read which made me email info@nevrax.com lol (something about accepting any kind of pay they will ever want at any time)
From then on i forgot about Ryzom as i never got a reply to my email send to nevrax about that NDA payment rule.
Then came April, heh it seemed a whole big open beta was going on and i was missing out!! Quickly downloaded the client to check out this strange new world and to see how far it was upto my expectations, it was better, it was awesome
until the open beta was over and i got my invitation to closed beta and later on, now, retail.
I have been hooked on Ryzom, felt at home at Atys for more then a few times(heh taking over Atys's day/night rythm lol) i have been a great devoted fan, maybe even fanboi at times, but always a seriously devoted fan. Thats where we get to the present
The party is over! I will not go into all the points why, instead i will tell what Ryzom did for me!
-Ryzom made me change my mind about online games and monthly payment, i would never pay monthly subscription to play a game lol, look at me now mmo addict
-Ryzom was the first open and closed beta's ive participated in, it was great to be part of that, to help out while being rewarded with access to this awesome new world it was.
-Ryzom made me break out of my own ideas of what "fantasy" is and how i look at completely different aproaches to that, Ryzom was completely different as my vieuw of "Fantasy" yet it is like some wine's, you need to aquire taste and then its a gem!( i grew from hating the armor styles and that kind of art until i loved it)
-Ryzom made me realise that you should take an mmo like a wine, sip it and enjoy, not take big slurps and race till the end-slurp
i realised this after falling to the grind myself big-time lol
-Ryzom also made me realise that being a beta tester of a game isnt always that good for your enjoyment of the game (you seen so much already that i realy feel that if i didnt do beta i might have still been hooked on Ryzom, yet outposts..we all still wait for that, old and new players alike)
-Ryzom made me aware of Dark and Light, i will surely play Dark and Light when its released as to me it seems to be exactly what i am looking for in an mmo. As Ryzom opened up the door to closed beta testing, i also registered for the beta of DnL, we will see it has been a year ago, i registered just before i got my invitation to ryzom closed beta
Maybe theyll have an open beta stress test before release, time will tell.
well since then i been doing loads and loads of mmo's, trying them out.
I has been said al mmo's are basically the same, its true except for a few exceptions to the rule here and there, finding a good mmo is as hard as finding a good, a really good wine tho it think finding a good mmo is harder
lol
I have been away from Ryzom for long times, awaiting new content i have been doing some open beta's here and there of other mmo's in meantime (Face of Mankind(i dont get the fun part
), Irth Online(great gameplay), Gunz international( online fps style game with charchter levels and development) and a few single player games)
But now my ryzom subscribtion is coming to an end, i will need to decide what to do, i told myself if there are no outposts coming this time i would not continue my subscription and im am now sure i wont continue it.
Coming novemer Dark and Light should be released, else its a little later, heh if its a year later i dont mind, ill wait. Why? Because i think it will be that great wine of an mmo and i rather have them push forward release dates and make it good and finished as releasing an unfinished game youre paying to beta test.
That was meaning onyl 2 months to fill till DnL!
Ryzom ending september/october..well....lucky me
..i got an invite to a closed beta of which im not allowed to say the name or anything else.
I will be doing this closed beta until Dark and Light releases, then i will move on to playing Dark and Light
I will not start naming al, the reasons why i leave (reasons having directly to do with Ryzom) instead i thought lets keep it positive as what it did for me we all know what Ryzom needs and why people leave and what is promised and yet not in the game and all of that stuff i think thats also why a lot of the leaving people are beta testers so lets not get started on that please, all ill say about that is its painfull to see something awesomely potential not turn out into anytyhing you where promised it to be for what ever reasons that is.
So please no flame war about what is promised and if it is or not etc, its so tiresome..lol
well heres the goodbye part then finally after all that boring talk...
Petej, was great to have met you in beta and played with you in Angels of Atys!
I wonder if well meet again that would be cool
Rushin, was very nice meeting you too!
I remember we started out both as leaders of relatively small guilds and we chatted out the game and where it was going to and how great the game was for some specific reasons then you joined Angels of Atys much much later on, that was one of the nicest unexpected surpises in Ryzom (as i never ever would have thought you'd want to join Angels of Atys lol)
Dynz, V, Muffy, Lou, i have been logging in and out of Ryzom lately to hope and catch one of you but toher mmo's have drawn you in hehe, i hope to see you all again!
it was great having met you and start out Angels of Atys
lol still remeber how we stood in the white zorai castle and we had problems with the guild clerk roflol (think he was picky about spaces in names or something like that and capital letters)
Angels of Atys, Spasitel, Anders, Firestarter, Cecil, etc etc etc, all the Angels
(naming all will be a long list
) was great fun to have played and leveled with you all!
I wonder what will happen to Angels of Atys, all of you heh, like Spasitel sayed, it would be great if we could all get a new guild up in another mmo or a second guild or whatever lol
I hope to see you all again you where great m8's and i feel sad leaving that all behind, but i never played ryzom to have a 3d-chat interface
lol
Anyway i have a years sub, so it will run out still, in that remaining time il log back in once in a while like i did, to say hi and catch up
Well it was great having met you all and having played with you all, hope to do that again one time hehe, we'll see
Have a great time on Atys and anywhere
My names in other worlds are Artyn and Mythralyn
