I have 1Mb ADSL, but yesterday it went down, and i had to use Dial up all day. The only downside was it took longer to get in game, once i was in the lag was almost identical to my ADSL connection. Loading new areas takes a little longer, but was the only time i remembered i wasnt on adsl

The game is very playable on dial-up

56k never really runs at 56 bc of overhead.

i don't see any reason why dialup wouldn't work since this isn't a fps where ping is really an issue. my cousin used to play swg on dialup. there really wasn't much of any noticeable difference. the only problems were on patch days, where he'd wait hours before he could play.
