Sorry for digging up an old thread, but on my other old PC I had the same problem, and found out how to fix it, so I'll just post it here in case someone else has the problem too.

Using this card too.

And getting these problems to.
To fix it:
- Right click somewhere on your desktop
- Click Properties
- Go to the Settings tab
- Click the Advanced button
- If you get a warning, just click ok and ignore it
- Go to the Troubleshout tab
- Set the slider to Full
- Click OK, OK, OK, etc..
- Goto Start > Run
- Run dxdiag
- Goto Display
- Enable everything in DirectX features
- Exit dxdiag
If the slider wasn't set to Full yet, and you were able to change the slider to Full, it should now be possible to launch Ryzom. But with such an old gfx card, you will most likely have a pc that is as old, and your loading time will be somewhere around an hour
If it still doesn't work after setting those things:
- Use the ryzom_configuration tool thingy
- Set display settings to use OpenGL
