HP, Sap, Focus, Stamina and stanzas

Anyone else thing that other branches should provide more boosts to your stats?

What i figure is, that the max hp you can have is 3000 - 4000

Sounds a lot, but when things start hitting in the 200-500 range and above, that doesnt let you take that many hits, aura's and self heal aside.

Now, say that you get to 250 in one melee branch, and then start working on another, every 10 levels or so in your following branch gives you the option to buy more hp and stamina. Or generally in all melee branches each 10 levels (instead of every 5 in your highest level) gives you the option to buy more.

This would also apply to other skills to (digging other lands adds more focus, magic would add more sap (and hp if not purchased by melee). Crafting would add more focus if not already bought by digging.

Not having fully read the "spice up melee" thread, i reckon certain stanza's should be branch based only and not be a generic pool where the additional branches become ways of making more points.

e.g. Knife based combat, special ways of attacking, instead of "aim at leg" you could have "stab at ribs"

Sword could have special attacks named "heavy swing" (or much better named :P ) requiring a certain level of strength in the first place to be able to use it. (kinda like the way ql180 sword needs strength 170)

How about chucking in the javing like disarm stanza to close combat or unarmed combat?

These things like i said would only be able to be purchased by levelling certain things, so would add more variety to PVP too, as some people would have some stanzas that others havent levelled, rather than lets see who got the highest ignore armor or increased damage.

The people who take the time to level EVERY melee branch, would be a mighty figure indeed lol, tearing whole kitin patrols apart with their bare hands and not breaking a sweat :P

I had a similar suggestion once, albeit a bit different from yours.

What if every time you leveled you would gain some stats ? Like every melee level you dinged you would get 1 to hp and 1 to sta. Its not much but it quickly adds up if someone decides to level several trees. It would mean that those who leveled alot wouldnt be doing more damage than others, but they could take slighly more damage and do a bit more damage over time (due to higher sap and sta pool)

This could also bring pure melee'ers up past ele, because there are only 4 trees to level to 250 in magic but what, 16 (?) skills to level to 250 in melee (well, fight)

Very interesting ideas!!

Most importantly it would be an incentive for more people to lvl up more areas of there melee, or digging. if you have more rewards to go after, once you reach lvl 250 in melee, why not keep working melee in all the branches, not just the one you have reached 250 in.

Incentive is the key to keeping players in game, IMO

INCENTIVE !!!!

That's a good idea and makes a good deal of sense. The thing about weapon specific stanzas was something I was trying to talk about in a thread a made a bit ago. Glad others are making posts about it, maybe we can get a good change. Right now for all branches of melee, no matter what weapon are exactly the same. That isn't right. Play style options for melee is kinda, "Eh." as well.

Yeah, its not like there arnt other skills that dont have branch specifics.

take magic for instance, afflications, ele, heals, all under magic, but all only purchasable when levelling certain branches. Lets get the same for Melee :D (course would likely require one of those "we`ll give you all your points back" kinda deals so you can respend on appropriate skills)

Got pointed out to me, that the hp thing wouldnt be a grand idea due to outposts. Those who have got 250 in a few branches of melee would simply walk over anyone. Laughing histerically as they sit on your head, and bullets bounce off their chest, swords bend over their heads etc...

Perhaps change it to special stanzas that require a certain level in a few branches. (once they split) so a player who has 150 in all 2 handed gets a special 2 handed attack available. (perhaps the ability to weild two 1 handed weapons (2 swords, like the way knife/sword is)

Flash backs to the sneaky beserker who dual-wielded two long swords *shudders non-stop, like he has hypothermia*
