if there was a reset of the servers, wouldnt there be a lot of fun for a lot off ppl?

the newby areas will be populated and newcomers to the games will feel better, cos they are close on lvls as the rest.

however some ppl will be unhappy as they have to start from the beginning. Even more unhappy will be the max lvl guys who have spend ages lvling.
the devs may give an option of ppl to chose if they want their chars deleted.

this is maybe a stupid idea but it could do something great to the game

i would recomend this to be done when the outpost are installed in the game .

What is your highest level ?

Probably i would not care for my melee, my elemental or my healing. But do you really think i start over again digging 200 levels ?

Legions of people would quit in frustration. Shortsighted perhaps, but true nonetheless.

You can create up to 5 chars anyway, and if you want to restart the option is there for you to. This idea would basically mean that everyone who has been playing for the last 10 months or so will have put in all the time for nothing.
Seren has worked hard to be where she is at now, and no, i dont want her at the same lvl as someone who started playing last week. Although Ceinwyn on the other hand only has one skill above 20 and depending how i feel, i play either one of them.

You mean that after paid beta is over get rid of beta testers and relaunch with new customers?

There is something similar that could be done if there will be loads of content added to game and a huge marketing campaing. They could launch second english speaking server. That is how similar things are handled in other games. But as it was proposed, I would choose to quit as if it was done once, it would be done again.

I know I would be gone. I put a lot of time in gaining all those levels, and it's not that I didn't enjoy doing it, but... it's kind of like when I write a story. I do that because I enjoy it, but if for whatever reason the story is lost when I'm halfway done (computer crash and forgot to save would be one reason), I usually just give up on it. I do it purely to enjoy it, and writing again something I've already written before is not enjoyable to me, just frustrating. If I do decide to rewrite it, I either wait a long time until I've mostly forgotten about writing it the first time, or I write it very different from how I initially did.

It would be the same with Ryzom. If I'm forced to start over again, it would have to be either very different from the first time (so unless they completely revamp the game, that means I'd have to move to another game) or after a pause of at least half a year.

How about instead, they create a new world similar to Atys, with new races.
People could stay on Atys with their old character at their old level, or port over to the new world and basically start over. Maybe they could do this every year or so.
