Hunting the elusive 'Noob'

Of late, while traversing the prime roots, I have - on occasion - been witness of victim to bands of rather eager hunters seeking some manner of new beast.
'The Noob'.
Why so many highly skilled hunters should seek out this beast so avidly I do not yet know, from the enthusiasm and zeal of the hunters - and their method of hunting - one can surmise a few things about the beast though.
1 - It must be a challenging beast to hunt and a glorious experience to kill. Why else would so many devote so much time to hunting such a creature?
2 - It must have bodyparts that are immensely valued by crafters.
3 - Perhaps it carries equipment of some description, much like the bandit leaders, of a quality higher and greater than that acheivable by our own crafters.
4 - It posesses homin-like intelligence and a shape-shifting capability. This is the only plausible explanation for the all-too-common occurance of bands of wandering Noob-hunters slaughtering innocent homin instead, be they travellling or harvesting.
5 - Noob's must be very hard to kill as the hunters will often slaughter the poor unfortunate homin they have mistaken for a Noob several times over.
In all my studies and wanderings of Atys I have yet to discover a genuine Noob and I fear the attrition and inconvenience to a great number of homin caused by overzealous Noob hunts far outweighs any reward possibly acheived from finding one.
I look forward to heared other learned homin's contributions to the ecology of this elusive beast and a solution to the drunken rampaging of over-enthusiastic Noob hunters in the prime roots.
