Improve magic system

I noticed that current magic system seem to work fine, but there is small detail what could improve the system.

Anyone notice when You melee with weapons, after You get more skills the same weapons does more damage than before.

Magic effects power does not change by skills what character has, only by the spell uprade what You have. If You use same spell, it does act exact same ways, even if You skills of magic improves.

How about adding the magic skills in the magic system. So that spell does little more, if You have more magic skills. Every magic spell upgrade would be just the base efficiency of the spell and skills would fine tune it.

Ok, but only if it's going the twisted way: let's say your lvl 105 spell has 500 max damage. When you'r lvl 105 you have 400 max damage and you got +5 max damage per level till you reach lvl 125 and learn next spell.

The problem is that mages are overpowered atm and giving them more power is not a good idea. When you'll reach higher lvl in elemental magic you'll see that a melee just can't do as much damage as a mage. (The maximum damage of a mage at lvl 250 is 3000. The maximum damage of a melee at lvl 250 is 1104). So I like the idea but only if they lower the damage based on player level. :)

Aye, I'm not trying to make mages more powerfull, just change how the magic system works.

I find it more fun, if You see that "leveling" did directly improve You actions. Idea is more like skill has meaning, so that higher magic skills are better than lower. I will leave it to dev team fit this "idea" in the game, if they like it.

When I'm lvl 40 defence magic, I would see the difference if I'm lvl 41 defence magic. No need wait to see improvements untill I get new spell upgrade.

I believe you do get better at each level through the better success rate of your spells and the lower frequency of resistance from mobs of the same level, it is just not as pronounced as in melee.

Amps and melee weapons work differently. You'll notice amps have a percentage (for spells) for how fast/how powerfull they can make the spell.
What we do get, if no one has noticed, that is similar, is success rate.

If you use a ql 100 amp to cast your level 65 fear, you will fail more times than if you used a ql 70 amp. As you get better at casting defensive affliction (by levelling up) your success rate will increase.

Also, Amps can be used as primiative boxing gloves, with the same melee style "I've levelled and getting more dmg" type effect. But who really uses a pair of amps to punch someone?

Nice idea. Every idea that nerfs elementalists a little bit is good one :)

@Chrono improving melee skill improves chances to hit against dodge and parry. So, both skills improve with increasing skill level. However, mage can deliver full damage of higher level spell immediately when they get spell but melee won't get max damage until skill level equals weapon quality.
