PvP Engagement report

Hi everyone!

This is a report only. Yesterday I was attacked in PR by Kye and Fasinus without any previous warning (or provocation from my part).

Here is the screenshot of sysinfo about it: http://ludens.elte.hu/~tiz/ryzom/screenshot031.jpg

Btw, I would like a "Crime and Punishment" forum subsection if PvP will be more usual thing in Ryzom.

Thanks for your time.
bye, blondy

I'm not exactly sure what your problem is here?

You entered a PvP zone. You were warned that you would be attackable. You stuck around. You were attacked.

You "without previous warning" doesn't wash mate. You WERE warned:

"You are now in a Guild PvP Zone: here guilds can confront each other.
You will be attackable in 30 seconds."

IMHO they did nothing wrong. You have no grounds for complaint. If you don't want to be attacked, stay away from PvP zones mate. :)

And in case you're wondering, I don't like PvP. I just don't think you've got a complaint.

I know this is gonna get said again,

sys message said "you have entered a PvP zone"

therefore they can if they decide to attack you. I'm not condoning it but thats the way things are. I'd be a little annoyed too but as things go this will happen more and more by high level players who are bored of chain killing mobs and want to kill something/someone which they know will cause a little trouble, maybe all them hours Kye has spent online grinding might lead him to want a war ;)

in my view the choice in PR diggin is between -

wastelands - kincher patrols & rippa the friendly kincher
Umbra - high level bored people

I'd take the high lvl bored people every time ;)

OK then. Care to explain the reason behind making the report, and tell us what the report is supposed to achieve? I read your report, I looked at your screenshot - and now I'd like to know why you posted this report here. (btw don't take this as a challenge, whine etc. - I'm purely asking for an explanation of why this report is here).

Seems like a strange idea - Nevrax are obviously putting effort into the PvP side of things, and they feel PvP has a place. They won't remove it, but they will make it more acceptable for players. One thing I'm sure they won't do, is give people a dedicated area to complain about other players, when those players are simply using what Nevrax are providing in the game.

To answer your half-question, PvP will be happening more in Ryzom - Nevrax are pushing it forward themselves.

Thanks for report Blondy. Now I can take necessary precautions if I happen to see these possibly bloodthirsrty criminals in lawless areas.

@other commentors, report contained no complaint to Nevrax. Just a warning for any other of us who might go there. In some games players can set bounties on other players, so PK victims can get their revenge by expending some money.

In more PVP oriented games, where PVP does have some meaning and where both RP based and 'cause we can' PVP coexists there usually is a forum part where people can file:

- war declarations (why, when etc.), be they RP or 'cause we can' based
- reports of PVP actions comitted by players who aren't involved in an official war with people, are pirates, gankers etc
- advertising of mercenary groups who will attack any other entity for money
- advertising of player run police force
- information requests on certain individuals / groups (what timezone they are playing, what level they are, how wealthy they are, what things they posess etc.)
- recruitment posts from PVP oriented guilds

At least there is a place where to post stuff like this and war declarations etc., and General can be kept free of it.

I'd say this post is a 'heads up' post, so people know that those two characters in game like PVP and will engage people in PVP in PR. So if you don't want PVP you better avoid them, if you are part of the "police" then you can add them to your KOS list, if you want PVP you know who to talk to for a guild appliance or who you can shoot without getting whining back (one would hope :) )

Btw, I think what warning Blondy talks about is of 'RP or some such' nature, there has been no warning like that - so keep the 'another whiner about PVP in PR' style comments at bay please :p
