More mektoub questions

1. I've heard that nothing attacks mounts directly, that they can only be killed by indirect effects (like gingo dust). Supposedly, rapid packers are the same. I've also heard that mounts are only attacked if you are alive and near it. Which of these, if either, is true?
2. When their owner logs out or crashes, it seems mounts and packers are logged out too, in a way. When their owner disappears, they disappear. What is this? Does it always happen/in what conditions does it happen?
I'm currently working on a small information/tips site and I want to know the truth/details about these before posting them on it.

Yes they vanish if their owner is offline.
Its interesting to estimate the number of online players by counting the packers behind the Karavan altar in fount

imho gingo dust is "blind" debuff and not damage.
i tried to kill my packer

by parking it to torbaks spawn, dieing right next to it, got attacked right next to it and jumped to water. nothing worked. all that was with torbaks and it was rapid 1x purple packer.
but mount.. not sure about direct attack, but area damage does hurt them. try to run thru pack of goaris. one of them will surely hit you with lightning. some long long time ago tried that with Baying Goaris. mount lost half hp.
yelk gas kills them too. source explosion/gas too as i have heard

This is false. Say you are walking and your mount is following behind you for whatever reason. You get attacked by a torbak and killed, the torbak may turn and kill your mount as well.

That doesn't seem right...I was once in Hidden Source and killed multiple times by torbaks, they never even noticed my mount. Maybe because I was on it when they killed me?
