This is the place where you can ask questions about the game, existing features & content, patches, policies and anything else you'd like to know more about.

Two times a month we collect the questions from all 3 communities, submit them to Nevrax and hunt down developers, designers and artists to get you answers to your questions.

Before posting a question, please take a moment to read through our Q&A guidelines, where you can find detailed information on how these Q&A rounds work, what type of questions we are most likely able to get answers on, etc.

The Q&A guidelines can be found here: http://www.ryzom.com/forum/showthread.php?t=13068

I further recommend taking a look at our previous Q&A rounds, to check if your particular question has already been answered before:
Edited: Links to most recent Q&A rounds added.

Since the different factions will become more important, I would like to support my fraction only with my crafting. Will it be possible to set the fraction/race/... you want to sell your goods to? Will the merchants take fame into account?

Can we get an official response for the question raised in this thread?

http://www.ryzom.com/forum/showthread.p ... 040&page=1

Specifically, a lot of us (nay, ALL OF US, well, pretty much) feel that the default Max Zoom distant is too small to be enjoyable. The question was, how hard would it be for the devs to make an official change to increase the Max Zoom distant a tad?

Then will new patches go live on the ATS first again?

What are your future plans for the ATS.

When are we going to have the high level mobs for high level team huinting implimented, some of us were expecting it in the last Patch, however we were all disappointed when we saw the Patch was simply a PvP patch, yes PvP is a part of the game, but there are already area's for PvP, these people who like PvP can do it anytime they Like, but STILL no High Level Team hunts are available.

Can we have an answer as to whether this is being implimented in the next patch, or do we just sit & read, " its in Progress " ?

I think we are running out of questions...

Everyone is in a "wait and see" mode for Outposts. I guess this shouldn't be suprising as Outposts have been built up to be the "make or break" feature to this game. Maybe everyone is out grinding to get to L250 before they arrive or before the mage nerf bat swings into action. Maybe folks are off doing RL stuff (??) Maybe everyone died holding their breath for <insert bug fix/feature implentation/story development/population burst> to happen.

Question:
1) How are things going at Nevrax?
2) How is the work on Outposts going?
3) Have you formulated a plan to make PvP more meaningful and acceptable to the current player base?
4) There has been some strange l33tsp33k MOTD in-game and weird coffee combos in Klient. Is this a new trend? Will it continue?
5) Is the crafting-by-proxy an exploit/bug? If it is, will there be a way for non-crafters to open parts of the Encyclopedia?
6) What have you learned about the Ryzom community in relation to the Q&A section and your other involvement?

I enjoy the Q&A even when I don't agree with some of the responses, either in their content or prose. Then again I'm as critical of my own posts ("That's not what I ment to say!!").

no it isn't. I got a nice reply from a GM to that question.(sorry for offtopic)

Questions:

Gameplay Questions
==========================

1) Can you please elaborate a bit more on the 'crafting' system, as you did for Kami Tolerance or prospecting? the success rate is well known and related to your skill level and aimed quality, but what impacts the rate of degrades and the final quality obtained? has been it tweaked recently? do materials tools, gear, bonuses have an impact on this?

2) Do Death Penalty Pacts stack? what's the benefit of buying a 'hug' 'breath' and 'kiss'? (afaik, it is possible to buy a small, medium and big one. If a small increases rate 20%, medium a 50% and large a 80% for example, buying the 3 DP is removed 150% faster?

Generic Questions
==========================

1) In the "Now in Test" and "In development" only bug fixes, minor enhacements, gameplay balances, text translations, etc. are mentioned. Can you please elaborate a bit more on short/med term new *features*? (tbh I am only vaguely aware of 'outposts' 'new rites' and 'ryzom ring'), even those that have been mentioned like 'consumables', 'cosmetic branches', etc.

2) Are there current plans to improve the fame system, specially for tribes? I guess rites will be tied to fame requirements with tribes, but can we expect fame having more impact on the game?

Yeah, I've heard that as well. But we thought that dumping mats on the vendor for the sole purpose of storage was an exploit until Xavier said they would allow it.

If its "working as intended" it makes you wonder why harvesters didn't get this tweak as well. Not sure how they'd implement it since mission mats aren't tradeable. But even hunting missions auto-loot kills even if you don't engage the mob or heal the attacker. It's a case of "working as intended" not equalling "common sense".

Hi there, just a few random ones for you.

In trailers for the game, Mekkys can be seen following the wandering tribes around Atys, making it seem more realistic for them to be moving about. Will this ever be in game or will we have to re-enact it ourselves?

With all this digging we are doing, all over Atys, will a regular homin (player) ever encounter something other than harvesting mats? How come we never find a single gingo bone (or kitin bone, seeing skeletons litter the landscape in some areas) or an old jewel? Maybe even a magic artefact from days gone by or a lost Karavan mask? I understand that most stuff we homins make and use it biodegradeable but surely there is something else down there!

Have homins invented the wheel yet? If not, I have now! ;)

Can regular homins read? If so, why are there no books?

Is the core of Atys a potential exploration possibility for the future or is that considered to be like solid and unexploreable (like the molten centre of the Earth when not in an old sci-fi movie)?

Why, after the huge massacre of masses of the homin population of Atys by the kitins have the Matis seen fit to surround Yrkanis with a picket fence? Impassible by homins yet of a size where a Kitin could step over it without noticing. And then, they take two massive trees close to each other, with nothing in between, don't fence it off and call it a 'gate'.......

Has the diplomatic option for obtaining outposts been removed as a future gameplay feature? Only violence to obtain them?

Roleplaying is a major part of many people's lives on Atys. Yet, to be heard, the organisers and announcers have to /shout all the time. Can we have a seperate colour, or even channel, for the organisers to use so that their text is easily visible and not reproduceable by all-and-sundry? Make the Event text have a different background or something...

Oh, and about the Madness affliction spell giving the user less xp: what's that all about?
