Nevrax would like your feedback on a couple PvP-related changes and new features currently in testing. Please refer to the "In Test"-Section on the official website for a full list of changes and updates.
During an event, when you join a faction PvP zone, you will
automatically be assigned a faction according to your fame. Some
features will then be available to you:
  • A chat channel for characters of the same faction, which last up to
15 minutes after leaving the zone (unless you join a different PvP
    area);
  • An icon representing your faction (Kami or Karavan) will
appear above your character's head, which will help to differentiate
better your allies from your enemies.

Is faction selected based on individual fame or overall fame?

I'm curious as to what will happen with multi-racial guilds entering a PvP faction zone? For example lets say there is a Matis guild that is Karavan aligned and they have a couple Fryos players that currently have greater Kami fame than Karavan fame. Can these Fryos players join their guild in the faction PvP?

It sounds like faction is assigned automatically, yet I can see that there may be situations where a player has not gotten their faction of choice's fame high enough yet to be assigned the correct faction automatically.

Or is it a fixed implementation of the patch way back when Fleeting Garden was a Faction PvP zone and you had to choose a side upon entering?

What happens if you have a faction vs faction event and one side overwhelmingly outmatches the other side, e.g. 50 Karavan show up and 5 Kami?
Will there be a mechanism to rebalance the two sides?

Isn't the faction icon redundant? You're opponent's name will display red when he/she is attackable. At that point his faction is irrelevant.

Just my thoughts,

From the faction color post, it appears that the name won't show up in the faction color unless you have that toon targeted. You will need to look at the icon above the person's head to know who to target and attack.

Fast targeting is everything in PvP where a couple nukes can take someone out.

The problem I see is this is a Kami/Karavan designation. It seems to preclude a war between Tryker and Matis or a fight over an outpost by two Kami guilds.

Icon redundant. Colours is sufficient and more flexible. Due to role play and complexity people will not want to branded only Karavan or Kami.

MAybe enable space bar targeting for the enemie faction and your own faction with Ctrl + Space would be great for Fighting / Healing since it gets harder and confusing when theres more then 9 people each side :D

Kami/Karavan status linked to fame seems perfectly resonable to me, this means your status is linked to your interaction with the factions in the game through missions and other factors and cannot just be altered on a whim.

If a player did want to switch sides it would take time and effort to prove their worth to their new faction which seems completly logical to me.
