Lightning Aura, and what it affects (??)

A while ago, 4 new rites were released - one for each race. The Zorai one was a Lightning aura, that, if you read what it's definition is, says this:
Lightning Aura - Creates a wall of electricity around you that reduces the attack skill of any enemy in hand to hand (combat).
So, does this mean another player has to be attacking Hand to hand, like with amps/barehanded only? Or does this mean that any weapon skill will be reduced (I.e. with pike or mace, etc etc)?
Now that attacks from other playres are covered: Since most mobs hit you with their natural weapons (claws, teeth, whatever), does this affect attacks from all mobs, or none?

When i finised the rte i thought it was kind of hard to see an exact effect, if it even works and all.
So what i did is ask Alibooma to help me out, he (250 swordsman) atacked me while i used my lighting shield, his 2h sword skill was reduced 20 levels i thought (bare with me on exact levels count) we checked by looking at the levelsbar and trying to spot a level number like 230 (250)
So, no itsnot just boxing that it effects, i think from that one test its any melee skill.
edited for this: Mobs, it seems to efect all mobs melee based attacks, but the real problem here is confirming it, you cant look at the levels bar in a mobs A screen lol,so you never can really exactly confirm it.

I have pretty much seen the same as Drizzeth, the mob becomes "slightly" easier to hit and does not hit quite as much. 20 levels is not a biggie, but obviously this is level 2 and who knows what rites/levels await us...
I can see the value increasing as the levels do...

Wouldnt Melee aura just be best tho since it blocks all melee?

It sounds like the two are different and each have their strengths. Melee protection blocks incoming attacks but doesn't help you hit the mob. It sounds like this aura reduces the mobs effectiveness at hitting you as well as increasing your chance of hitting them due to their lowered skill level.

Melee aura has much longer downtime and it lasts only for a short while compared to lightning, so it is not that simple. I prefer mpa anyday though

They debuff your skill when they critically hit you.
It's not magic, like fear, or najabs slow spit. It's "physical". You are worse at fighting because they hit you dam hard.

How does this have a quicker 'activateable time' counter, or whatever. It works off of the 'aura counter' and after some testing, all the auras light up again at 30 min. The lvl 3 life aura might be active longer than the lvl 1 life aura, but from key press to lighting up, it is still 30 min. Only thing I have seen this changed on is the speed up power, but since it is not on the aura timer, and is actualy classified (somewhat) as the self-heal stuff, it doesn't realy count.
Noh
