Things to do with /random

We were doing guard duty waiting for mats to pop, and were a bit bored, so a few of us played a few round of blackjack with /random.

We kept it simple, using only 1 to 10, where 1 can be treated as 1 or 11 (as an ace).

Each player "draw 2 cards":

e.g.
/random 1 10
Fyrx has draw a 5 between 1 and 10.

/random 1 10
Fyrx has draw a 9 between 1 and 10.

So I have 14.

Then everyone takes turn drawing until they stay, or bust (over 21). Once you hit a number that you are happy with (and not bust), you say 'Stay' and that will be your final score for that hand.

e.g.
/random 1 10
Fyrx has draw a 1.
I now have 15, and can stay, or hit.

if I hit again.
e.g.
/random 1 10
Fyrx has draw a 7.
I would have 22, and bust, and lost that game.

If everyone bust then it's a tie.
Tie also for players with the same highest score.

Recommend pooling munnies into a pot and winner take all for it to be more fun :P

I was trying to think of other games you can play using the random command, but I am fresh outta ideas.

Throw some at me.

Keep posting ideas, a few of us are trying to put together enough games to launch a bi-weekly gambling night (still working on it).

Roulette

Easy enough to map the numbers/colours and groupings. 100 always goes to the bank :)

There could be easily all kind of lotteries during events. Give out some nice stuff for someone lucky who was present whole event.

Addendum to BlackJack.

It might be a wee bit more "statically accurate" if you draw from 1 to 13, and count 10, 11, 12, and 13 all as 10 values. Since the common "10s" and busting are a huge part of the BlackJack strategy, this will be a little bit slightly more accurate then just drawing 1 to 10 (but still not completely because "the card isn't remove from the deck" with our system).

Every once in a while some guide or game master makes a post on the forums. Most of the time these posts make sense.

Souls assumed he pressed the 'Think' button, but actually pressed the 'Say Out Loud' button :) I'm not sure if the Russian variety is possible Souls, clothed or otherwise...
