opinions wanted from the techie people :)

I'm gonna buy a new gfx card but what i cant work out is whether i should get a 6600GT or a 6800LE. They are about the same price, now a bit of a story to set the scene i recently had a nice new 9800pro and did a bit of a DIY thing with a new fan and bios to mod it into a 9800XT. fantastic i thought, everything seemed groovy and it ran super fast for a few months and then suddenly died :( so with my new card there is no way i am gonna attempt any mod's hehe

I have an GF6600GT and its runs perfect. I use 1280x1024 (monitor's max res) and all settings on max with no problems.

From what I've seen, the 6800 LE is meant to be an OEM card. In terms of power, it is equivalent to the 6800. Go for the 6800GT which is the one in between Ultra and Standard models. I have an XFX 6800GT 256MB and it rocks - running 1600 x 1200 - max detail everywhere except for DesertStock :/
