Didn't see a thread about this so i decided to make one.

I've seen people say you should save, what, 10.000? whatevers before moving to mainland, but should I buy better armour/weapons in the newbie area to help with the missions? And what about crafting tools and such?

I've been starting several low level characters recently and I usually just look for a decent 2H weapon (Choice Sword of Damage, etc.), maybe an amp, and some kind of light armor just to get me out of the beige refugee clothes. But I don't find that I need to spend a lot of time worrying about getting good armor (which isn't that easy on the island). I'd wait for the mainland for that.

With a good Q20 sword, and a couple of melee skills (increase damage, accurate attack), you can mow through most mobs on the island pretty quick.

As far as tools, they're all the same. If you need one, buy it. The ones on the island are the same as the ones on the mainland.

Buy good equipment as soon as possible. You will get money faster when you have good equipment so you will have your investment back with interest before you see mainland.

Don't buy NPC items they are very poor. Buy tools that you need.

That I'll do. Thanks for the quick response. Had to ask about weapons since I seem to get killed off pretty damn fast =D

Have at least 100,000 dappers when you go to the mainland. 10,000 won't even buy you decent pants.

aslong as you get 20 melee skill you will be able to fight the stuff on mainland without much problem so you can still make cash here too
