The Kami and Karavan seem similar to the Vorlon and Shadows in Babylon 5 (sci-fi TV series). Anyone who has seen Babylon 5 would understand what I mean...

(If you haven't seen Babylon 5, Google it and read up on the Vorlon and Shadows. )

Following that train of thought, I predict that homins will eventually tell both the Kami and Karavan to get off Atys and let them control their own fate.

He hee, I agree, if only because I have been saying this for a while now. That's why I am against both Karavan and Kami. Not neutral, but against both. I shall fight until Homins are free of opression, I shall rez those that the Kami blast asunder for progress and fight those that blindly support their masters.

I think when next Kami vs Karavan PvP comes, we can get together and kill both sides. That will be real "player driven content".

Then the kitin and the goo come from Nausicaä of the Valley of the Winds. DCC has acknowledged Miyazaki as a source. You can see the inspiration for the kami in the totoro and radish spirit.

well if this is a b5 comparison then

kami == the shadows
karavan == vorlons

matis == minbari
tryker == humans
fyros == centauri
zorai == shadow ally (don't really fit into the role of the narn)

now that someone mentions it it's kinda easy to see, however you could easily draw correlations between any basic good and evil type battle in anything

like we could easily say that the karavan are the jedi and the kami are the sith and make it work

but definately in the b5 world kami are the shadows and the karavan are the vorlons

I'm surprised that no ones pointed out the similiarities to how the kitin invasion started and the Human-Minbari War.

Humans venture off into a new part of space, make the mistake of "waking up" the minbari, and the killing off of the human race begins.

Well it is not directly comparable in my opinion. Vorlon /Shadow was a Order/Chaos separation. and here it more of a Technology/Magic. Also the fyros tend to lend more themselves to human behavior with the Zorai to the Minbari. Matis would be Centauri with Tryker as the narn but them again it is not that perfect.

As for the ealier comment that, Atys for the homins and out the kamis and the karavan ill be careful. We still dont know who they really are. Maybe our ancestors? We shall see

In Babylon 5 both the Vorlons and the Shadows are advanced caretaker races bringing up humans as they see best. Humans eventually cast both off. (Incase you didnt know).

Hence the reason I'm playing anti-kami and anti-karavan. Or in role-playing terms: "I'll dig as much as I like and go to Primt Roots when I fancy." Which quite frankly is what most people do anyway.

So aren't we all against both of these superior medlers? Everything else nasty on this planet starts with 'K' so it only seems fair.
