I have a question about these stories.

Are they first written in French, then translate to English and German?

I am guessing since Alexis is French, it is written by him first originally in French, then someone translate it, but I don't want to assume.

I am also afraid that if this is the case, we might have things that could get lost in translation.

the story seemed perfectly readable to me enjoyable to read too rather than some posts on this forum ;)

HA! LOW BLOW!

I do agree that it is still enjoyable. But I hate seeing original author intents with proses getting changes (however slight) because of translation. I know it can't be helped, I am just curious is all.

I enjoyed the story and it's great to see someone dedicated to telling the stories of Atys.

I wanted to take this opportunity, however, to provide some (hopefully) constructive criticism about the current state of storytelling and lore in Atys.

The main weakness I see is that the vast majority of storyline content is posted to the web yet nonexistent in game. It's generally understood that in most games, the majority of players do not regularly visit the website or forums. When they have free time, they like to spend it in the game playing. As such, they miss all of this great content.

By far, the better way to bring the storyline content to the players is through the game world itself.

I'm not saying that stories and lore on the website should stop or that this effort is a waste. Far from it. Instead, I'm saying that Nevrax is simply failing to fully tap the potential that is there.

Why not have the story told to players using NPCs and events that occur in the game itself? Narratives such as this could easily be adapted to NPC dialog. Why not have Aedon appear in Pyr one day and call out his arrival in region chat. He could then be an NPC that wandered around Pyr. When you talked to him, he could recount to you the full story.

True, the full story might be too much for an NPC to tell in one dialog interaction, however, he could still recount the same events in a shorter fashion. The website would remain as the full, detailed accounting of the events.

I would love to see the work by Alexis continue. I'd also love to see him have the means to turn his stories into NPC dialog and activities within the game.

A nice little story, I enjoyed it too :) The formatting could be improved a bit I think, but a good read :)

Also I agree with Aylwyne, having someone such as Alexis influence the ingame story and progression could be quite interesting :)

Come with me, you have to go and see Boethus Cekian. He will explain many things to you - there is a lot to learn before you can think about going to the great cities.
Sounds like dear Aeden just made his way to a Starter Island...
