Hi Plangent !
Is this normal if my CPU is bound at 99% during ryzom execution ?
I don't have the lastest and best PC on earth but it seems my CPU should not be bound by a unique program even under XPSP2 which is the dumbest OS on earth ...
Do you have an explanation ?
thanks

Yes, actually. I run a new, top of the line, and even my CPU is always @ 99% playing Ryzom. It has since beta 2. Just the way it goes. My advice is just dont have any other programs running, not like you need any others while playing anyways.

Yes, the game is just very processor intensive. Even on the beasts we run here, it'll jump up to 99% oftentimes.

I don't think I've ever seen a game (3D games mind you) that didn't run at or come very close to using full CPU cycles while running. As far as applications go... there are plenty out there that can "max out" your CPU, but as far as games (once again 3D games) are concerned it's pretty much expected for the CPU to max out while running the game.

Basically any game you play will put highest priority settings on the threads it
uses to run the app. Meaning if you alt tab out and open up task manager, it
will show 99-100% CPU utilization. It's more related to thread priority than
anything. You can still run apps if you are alt tabbed, or in windows mode,
just don't expect the game to respond fluidly

one of the ways to stress test your computer is to play games. it pretty much puts a load on all your compents from hd, vpu, cpu and memory
