Where did all the people go and why?

Where did all the people go and why? When I started the game just after it's release last year, and it had gotten some good ravs after E3, it was a rare day when there were not 40-50 people in and around the Cerekos gate/stables/kami area, and when I would come to Thesos there were usually 20-30 people around. Now the population seems to be reduced by 80-90%.
This can not be a good thing.

Well maybe since the E3 reporters were down there checking out the babes in the booths, lot's of good things are in store, and all the game Mags will rav about the game and we will be populated by folks who don' read the manuels (maybe they don't come with manuels anymore, yeah, yeah that is a good idea, then folks won't expect much). Well there is an old phrase by PT Barnum, about "a sucker is born every minute", and I seem to be one of em, believing everything I read in the manuel and on the box, thinking there really is a Dick Tracy watch inside that works.

Forest - hon - please understand how parsing your stream of consciousness into paragraphs actually helps people to read what you type. I couldn't get past the first 2 sentences but then I'm dyslectic.

Now, what wonderful, positive thing were you saying about SoR?

I've broken up your post to make it easier for people to read. No insult intended.

For my part I haven't noticed a mass exodus since Patch1/WoW. Guild Wars doesn't seem to have had the impact on the player base that I thought it would have done. The hunting areas are always occupied and you can't run through an area without running into someone. I think it's more that the levels etc are spread out and not so many people, necessarily, come back to the capitals any more.

I still see 20-30 people around Thesos quite regularly.

Now, I few people's patience is running out and they've been significant fans, also there are exams and revisions going on for a large number of the student population - that makes an impact. Also *Looks outside* Well, its overcast but it was sunny a while ago. People play less when there are other distractions and the world is a bright and cheery place.

Personally I'm likely to play more to stay away from the eeeevil Day Star.

The game as it stands is good and the community remains brilliant. There's still lots to do but, I'll agree, goodwill is starting to run thin. I can't say I've seen the exodus of people you describe though.

I can't why so many folks have quit playing this game...jeez they don't have any faith in folks good intentions and the willingness to get things done quickly and efficiently like they promise...so they just leave and go play another game...the ingrats. After all I played Ultima Online for almost 5 years and then sold my account and game here (little did I know, I sold my account to soon before fully testing the game to see if it was all here as discribed)...grumble, grumble, grumble.

Good thing I or some of the other vets who have already left, arn't reviewers for a giant game magizine...well maybe fore a few bucks I could say some good things about the graphics, and just ignore the other things, for a few bucks that is. Where did all the folks go and why have they not come back, and they have not come back cause this place is a ghost town, and I remember lot's of their names.

not having people around much does hinder your lvling progress tho since they made it imossible to solo over a certain lvl id love to go lvl up my melee but without finding a healer to do it with not much hope of it happening ;P

at night when people get home from there jobs then there is more people around usually maybe you played to early in the day to see them :)

I don't think your a sucker forest1 just a whinger. your other posts kinda support my theory i think.

and yes, yes call me a fanboi if u like but: there are lots of people playing, the population had been rising steadly for some time, as noted things seem more empty than at launch because back then everyone was crowded into the cities and lower level zones. now with lots of high level people we are all off in the pr, GoC, void, etc.

I've got nothing against moaning posts, I've made a few myself but their seems little point to yours except to create some negative feeling in the community, thats what i'm not so keen on ;)

no offence but how can you say what? you got some kind of "spesial counter" in you brain what can see the total numbers on the server? :D

I think its more accurate to say the numbers is very fluxuatin at times. some weekend i see plenty of players in one place and 3 with /who in a other and so on.

No one but the devs can see how many is on the server but on thing is for sure many have left the game even some of the hardboil Fanbois, just take a look on kilents then the server is normal and compre it to before patch 1.

um, none taken - its a forum for some reason that means no-one believes a word anyone else says. But info was from Lawrence (posted last week):

However cynical u r feeling that still means the numbers are going up, which is what i said..
