Chapter 3 is about the Outposts
And they are testing it as we speak and so they have been saying for a year now...same as ranged(sry low blow :) )

But what about some of the other things they talked so warm about?
Here it some thing i been missing for allmost a year now what are promised in varius dev chats and interviews.

Story/Saga ( Dont think Nevrax is sure themself as they keep changing the core of it)
Taming skill (no im not talking about mounts )
Cosmetic skill (no im not talking about tatoo vendors)
Potions (saw some at the easter hunt)
Children and aging (one of the lost Fetures)
Character facial emotion (it seem all is there just closed of)

Raid (seen it acivte 2 times once in beta and one time at xmas at the build and defend ouposts invasjon )

Guild missons (Saw a Guild npc once in beta)
Guild lands (seen maps on other lands, yes 3d maps)
Guild HAll building evolveing (what are all those doors? :) )

Music sample system (apperntly they wanted player made music also with uploaded samples)
In game movie recorder (Been in game for a long time not enabled)
Sub-games (races, gamble and so on)

Subaquatic life in the Tryker lands (it is quite dead down there is it not?)
Underwater Mounts (seen the mounts both in 3d modell and concept art)

Harvesters gardens (was to be closely linked to guild hall and lands)
Goo cleaning (lot of talk of this Goo action but nothing happens again story/saga )

And this i just some of the things i rember for the old days ontill now probly lot of more things is there it just need to be open/worked on.

Well seeing as its very hard to reply exactly because everyone of course wants the content now aswell, I thought I would wax philosphical:

I remember as a kid being the back of the car and driven to the beach on hot days. It was an hour long drive, which for me at the time lasted approximately 23 weeks, or so it seemed. Yes the road was long and the iddleness frustrating but luckily for me my folks knew this really great beach.

I didn't have much choice then, but we have the option at times like these to just sit back and enjoy the view as it slowly trawls by. I had to chill or loose my mind in the back of that car.

Get a bucket of water, just in case.

Yep all the reasons I have stuck with the game nicely listed.

Whats kept me for leaving, as these things have and are taking there time to appear, is what the players have done. The player base have taken a great framework of a game, with enough triggers and stuff to give some enviromental control (Fame).

However this game is currently 80% player content, 15% CSR content, 5% Nevrax. The environment is 10% player (merchants), 90% Nevrax (The game itself).

This communtiy should be very proud of itself, I have read many times David's vision of what Ryzom is supposed to be. Ryzom was, as I understand it, always ment to be an evironment in which to live. It was, again as I understand it, never ment to be a quest driven game.

I wonder if the reason a lot of people are disappointed with the announcements, and slow progress of content patches is because they are looking to be led, to be 'told' what to do next, guided to a place, to destination, an end.

From the moment I started playing Ryzom, I looked for the same things, who (NPC's) would tell me why I am here and what is my reason to be here.

During Beta I learned the interface and the 'workings' of the game. How Spawns worked, how the mob AI reacted to things, how the stanzia worked, etc.

Once I had establish 'How the world worked', I looked for the 'Reason' again, still could find one.

During FBT I got to know a lot of wonderful people, special people, some of which I class as close friends. But during the FBT my interest was only 'make it work' doing the tasks assigned and looking for errors and inconsistancies.

Towards the end of FBT, I realised the 'Reason' to play was never going to be found in game, its wasn't ever going to be a linear, driven, pathed game. It was infact, a world, a place to exist. I had complete freedom of choice. No class restriction, no race restriction (I could live as a Fryos, even though I was born a Tryker), no real upper limit (lvl 250 is a cap, it could easily be 1000). These thing I have never seen in any game before. Its so close to real life restrictions, in a game world, that is scares me sometimes. (Basically the real-life rules are made by people, this is as it is in Ryzom).

So as the game was not going to provide me with a reason, I created Neun and I created the reasons for him to be on Atys. This is how its been for the 7+ months since release.

I have had the most fun playing a game, ever! I will continue to play the game, why .... because I haven't completed it yet! (hehe)

So there you go......

I want those things listed above, not because they will keep me interested, make a huge difference to my game experiences, but because I wont more tools to help me get the most out of what I already have..... A world full of people (hehe kinda of inspired myself there to go an live a bit more in the real world).

So to me 1 week, 10 weeks, 100 weeks, Never .... how ever long it takes to add the stuff, I reallly don't care that much. (The main reason I jump up and down to get new stuff added is to keep a few of the less imagantive people in Neun's World)

Well, best return to the real world, Neun will wake one day (soon [tm] :P ) and I would if he will see the changes, he won't be looking for a game mechanic or a new 'task'.... he will do what he has always done, look to the people, grin and go about his business quietly.

Remember after all he is just a humble harvester, that dabbles in a bit of crafting!

Luckily, I was not in betas or did not read any information about promised features. Just downloaded client and subscribed to free trial with thinking to quit after it. Well, then Ryzom happened and I did not quit.

I guess my gaming experience have been better than yours as I have not been expecting these things.

But then, I have been promised outposts and loads of new rites. It has been pain to wait these for so long. I can only guess your pain as you have been waiting like 20 other features too :)

In our Guild Hall we've got a Guild Fighter Trainer through one of the doors. We asume the other trainers will be through be the other doors. Right clicking on the trainer gives two options the regular "Develope Skills" and a new "Learn Guild Action" which requires Guild XP. However, neither is active, so all he says is to come back later.

Depends what you count as content.

- New mektoub packers and related stuff 9 weeks ago

- Major content patch (chapter 2) 17 weeks ago

This is a nice post. You have done a beautiful job of calling balls and strikes.
