Ryzom

Hi.
Im gonna try this game out and registered a 14 day trial and a friend of me got the ryzom client on a cd witch he downloaded some time ago. But the client you can download now and the client he has dosnt have the same name hes client is
ryzom-full-p1, and the downloadable client from your site is p2. can i still use this client to play the game ot do i have to wait for the huge download of the new one to finish?

Edit: I saw now that i posted in the wrong forum XD.. cant figure out how to delete it oh well....

you can use both, when connecting for the first time, ryzom client will automatically download what is missing. maybe 15MB to 50MB of data. no need of a full "redownload" of 1GB+

The download form the Ryzom site is patched through Feb iirc. Likely they're jsut differant patch versions. So you should be okay.

the game client will patch itself after logon, so you can use it. The patching of this game is pretty decent, you even can delete everything except 2-3 files, and the game still loads and patches itself.


The only clients that don't work with the retail game are the old beta clients.

YES .

I would guess that P1 is an older version and would require more patching than P2. Since the patches have been less than 50 megs a pop I would venture to guess that patching P1 may be faster.

Ive bin playing wow to much and wanted a change, and this game looks cool!

YES! on the starting island, there may not be a lot of people... but dont get lose hope... once you move to the mainland, make friends, and mabe join a guild... the World of Ryzom will eat you for lunch.... and dinner, and a midnight snack, as well as the left-overs that you nuke in the micro-wave in the middle of the night, and brakfast in the morning... and back to lunch.
