Saying Hi and maybe good-bye

My character is GoldenHammer. I came back after a 3 month break. I was disappointed with the unending delays in the implementation of Outposts, which would have made the game vastly more interesting, and with the continuous rumors that range (guns) were going to be de-nerfed and of course when I came back, none of these things had been changed. Ummm,
promises not fulfilled gets old after a year. So, I like so many vets before me, might l be leaving after this pay cycle. And this is sad because I thought the game would have some pretty interesting dynamics with the implementation of outposts and viable guns.

Hi, Basic. I hope you are right. My odds line is a 1 in 5 chance that outposts are up and running without major bugs 90 days from now, and with luck come New Years it might will be running decently. Of course without a good range fix, Outposts won't be near as much fun in my opinion. I am kinda of down on Nevrax, their credibility needs some serious patching, as far as I am concerned. The gap between promises and things delivered is canyon wide.
Well, I have about a 100 days before, my character would be wiped out of the data base, maybe....a big maybe...things will be better by then. Of course that is what I thought last time....after gm's told me range was being fixed --"they are working on it now, and outpost's are coming soon is what the development team told me". So many vets and orginal beta players have left and not come back, and won't be coming back as their character has been deleted. Of course the folks at Neverland (Nevrax) can continue to live in denial, yet the fact as I see it is, most vets after the character is deleted are not going to take the 350 hours it takes to build another maxed out Mage. Grinding does get pretty boring for most folks, especially after you have "been there and done that". And from the past experience as to how long it takes Neverland to get things up first and running right second, the chance that they can get this done in 90 days is slim and none. So will I pay another month's rent to check things out 90 days from now...odds line is 50/50 at best. It is sad, it is (maybe was) a game with so much potential. Well maybe EA will come in and buy them out and make things vastly better for awhile. And I don't like EA after what they did to Ultima Online, yes it is imminently popular (not a ghost town like....) and I don't care for the new directions they took UO in and basically changed the game. Ryzom's orginal idea (if fully implemented would be awesome). They are acting like a company that is either broke or run by business fools. This is a service business...give the people what they want and give it to them quickly.
Well enough ranting and raving for the day.

pls explain how range is nerfed? it's not

if you say range is nerfed then EVERYTHING is nerfed except elemental cause elemental does the most damage

as for you, develop some patience, i'd like to see you code a game that's half way as nice as nevrax has and without any large company backing you

if you want to leave then do so and stop acting like a drama queen on the boards about it

I love this game, play it for a little over a year now, i made it to Master Rifleman and i have to argee to both of you *evil grin*:
range isnt nerfed indeed, it has never been good/balanced or had a lot of attention. :P

No seriously throughout the year and open ebta, closed beta, retail there have been a lot of combat balancing changes for both magic and melee, where magic has gotten much more attention as melee.
In al that time magic has evolved to the combat class players like to play it and generally effective and very much fun to play with.
People playing the game for longer as me or the same time will know that melee hasnt gotten the same kind of atention and is a bit less well balanced as magic.

Ranged fight, in all the time i ever played Ryzom has never ever had any patch besides fixing exploitable bugs and the hitrate skill that has been added along with the promise of it being the 1st of whole new skillset.

The hitrate skill is a very nice skill for ranged combat and works charms for ranged combat compared to before we had the skill, i think it also shows a bit of what direction the plans for ranged combat are.

Fortunatly Nevrax is in opninion ranged combat needs attention, they promised a whole overhaul of the ranged combat tree and skills whihc i patiently await and exppect much god from, they also stated they want ranged combat to work different as both magic and melee, so all 3 combat classes are really different from each

I can name a lot of things what ranged would lack, or wat wold be great to have for ranged, but thats pointless, Nevrax has plans for it and im convident they will be great :)
