I guess we are all waiting to see who would post a thread about this first.

we might be seeing a patch next week, where some long awaited features will finally be here, once Jessica and the QA team give the OK.
When is the next content patch?

When it is ready and has been approved by both Test and me. No patch will be made to the live servers until we are satisified beyond a reasonable doubt that the patch is clean. We're getting close with the latest patch, but neither the head of Test or I are going to release anything we think is premature.

We plan to include the following elements in the next content patch :

A new command is added: /random [min] max (the min default value is 1).
Titles are now granted at the beginning of a branch tree (51 instead of 50 for example) except at 250. If you are at a such level (like 20) you will loose your title until the next level.
Titles for fighting bare hands after the level 200 are now correctly allocated to the corresponding skill. It is therefore possible to gain levels in that skill.
You can now have stack of 999 items (except for pre-patch tickets).
The /afk command is back, and is not interfering with some animations anymore.
Your target_s HP bar could have been not empty even if the mob was dead. This is now always correctly displayed.
The Karavan guards wearing laser weapons fall when dying.
Thanks to the spring clean, getting all your character's info while logging into the game is faster.
If you are moving using the two buttons on your mouse and then launch the auto run, you can release your mouse's buttons, you will keep running.

The guild inventory slot numbers is increased to 1000.
Offline members' names are correctly displayed in the guild listing.
Your guild inventory is displayed fully and correctly.

If you reach the end of a branch of your skill tree, and when you begin one of this branch child, the part that is done is now colored with green.
The number of slots in a bag is now 500 and 1000 in a player's apartment.
Colorisation of sender name in chat and tell window for better readability.
You can now adjust some graphic options with Direct 3D in the window mode.
The mektoubs mounts and packers names are correctly displayed on the compass.

If you get a new Mektoub, it will be specific to your race. They are all still going at the same speed.
There are 500 slots in a Packer inventory.

You can buy some Kami or Karavan pacts that resorb faster your Death Penalties. You can note the pretty icon going on with the pact ! Please note that you can see those pacts only if you have some DP.
Also, we are trying to schedule this patch for next week. As Jessica said, it won't happen if we aren't satisfied of the sanity check tests currently being performed. So, don't take this for granted, but we are doing our best to release it quickly.
That 999x stackable items slot in the inventory is enough to make me jump for joy, along with the dp pacts.

But I note the absent of new rites, even a few. What gives?

p.s. I do like the new care taken into making sure patches are nice and clean before release, we'll see how well the new testing process is working after this next patch.

I'm just happy that we will get 2 patches in the next two months, since the outposts are in the relatively near future. As far as the rites go, ehhhh I hope this is just cause they are doing what they normally do and not having complete patch notes.

I doubt the outposts will be out in the next month. I can see it being tested and retest for at least another 2 months.

I am wondering about the update:

* You can now have stack of 999 items (except for pre-patch tickets).

I cannot take things out of the guild hall as I am not an officer but I have heard from those that can that it wont allow them to remove but a full stack of the mats at once. So if there is a stack of 98 oil they have to take out all 98 and can't take out only 10 or whatever. Now a problem would arise with stacks of 999 cause you personal bag can only hold 300 bulk and 999 mats is 500 bulk which does not work ;P
Also, will the stacking be fixed with this update? cause currently as far as I am aware they do not automatically stack when entered into the guild hall. So if you already have 50 oil in the GH and put in another 45 identical oil into the GH you have 2 stacks of 50 and 45 instead of one stack of 95. To stack them you must put them into you bag and then back into the GH.

It basically means you will almost never have more than one stack of one thing somewhere, unless you happen to have over 1k mats of a single mat at a time and so saves on slot space (which is increasing too :P )

Caitiff makes a good point, hopefully they have fixed more than just the slots and stacking in the GH inventory.

I was somewhat confused by this line:

Does that mean that the meks in the game currently are at the same speed? Even the supposedly "faster" packers?

It means Zorai get huge mounts and Tryker get micro mounts but they both run at the same speed
