What do you really see?

Am I really a quiet person you see sitting there, lost in thought? Or maybe someone tactfully chooses the conversation to join in on? When I look at you with my deep coloured eyes, do you feel I am looking right into your soul or just through you as a ghost?
What do you really see when I sit there staring across the lake smiling?

I see the tears of the past.
I see the hope for the future.
I see the joy of the present.
I see the longing for friendship.
I see the dreams of a child.
I see the fears of not knowing.
I see the warmth of a smile.
I see the life in your eyes.
I see you,
but do you see me, as I sit there looking at you just staring across the lake smiling?

*Smiles*
I am not a great thinker, nor am I a great fighter. I just enjoy the calmness of my home alongside the bustling sound of people going about their business. When I look out across our lakes, I see possiblities of adventure and uncertainties of what is really out there.
One day, I will go onto other lands, but will always return to Lake Lands. You see, I know where I am supposed to be...
Right here.

I see you half a meter above the ground, thoughts lumbering around as the stones in a mill.

I can see my eyes reflected in yours. I can see the deepness of your eyes as you can see the one of mines. We are watching each other, we don't need to ask what we are really seeing.

What do I see as I watch you gazing across the lake?
I see some easy dapper to be had.
Perhaps a quick smash to the back of your head with my mace. No, too brutal and I've put those days behind me. Besides, I wouldn't want to spoil those good looks of yours.
Maybe I can loosen your purse-strings, my fingers working unnoticed as you daydream. It would give you something else to contemplate when you realised you'd been robbed. But I'm not so sure you're that deep in thought, I think you might just see and there are no crowds out here on the beach to blend into afterwards.
So a different approach then, more subtle and sophisticated. With a bit of luck you won't even know there's anything underhand going on. Looking at you now, smiling, it seems that you might enjoy a game...
"Hello friend! How about a few rounds of Dexton Dice to while away the afternoon on this glorious day?"
