Tear of the Kitin

Homins, I bring you tidings from General Deamla.
"Today I was scouting in the Knoll of Dissent near the Tunnel of Woe with my colleague General Phanasa when I stumbled upon something. Shining on the ground between some bones was a piece of amber. It caught my attention and I picked it up. However, I did not get much of a chance to analyse it before an Arma, that was previously happily grazing on grass beside Phanasa and myself, attacked us.
The poor beast had suddenly turned mad with rage and charged us; it caught my leg on its first charge as my axe sliced in turn through the arma's hind-leg, shearing it right off. However, the creature seemingly ignored this and charged once more, only for my axe to nestle, burning away inside its skull.
The Arma was done; apparently it had gone mad in the blink of an eyelid leaving us little time to react. However, my leg had also sustained an injury.
Upon examining the amber, I found it to be both strange and worrying. One side was completely smooth and flat; indeed I had never seen something so flat like that before, however the other sides were rough as if they had been split from it somehow. The amber was clearly not complete, however from what I could gather from the shape of the piece I had it was probably teardrop shaped when fully formed.
More puzzling were the strange markings on one side of the amber, quite fuzzy and I did not recognise their style or meaning. Although this was not what had me worried, for inside the amber was a tiny Kitin claw.
The Kitin's claw was strange. It was clearly that of a Kitin, however even as a scout of some of the darkest Kitin lairs I did not recognise the type. It was also very small, suggesting the overall size of the kitin could not have been more than that of my hand.
I was concerned by this find, and knew I needed to get it back to safety, however with my leg injured I could not walk far or fast without help. Phanasa rushed off to Yrkanis to gather a small volunteer force to escort me back, and she found some very brave and honourable Homins to assist us. Meanwhile I had treated the wound as best I could under the circumstances.
I told them of my find then we set off for Yrkanis at walking pace. Some of the Homins supported me as I walked, while others cleared the path of danger. Lady Drakfot entertained us as we walked with her delightful poems and this helped ease my pain. The wound was still bleeding, and the Homins made sure to keep me healed so I could make it back at a reasonable speed. I was constantly examining the piece, and the Homins raised many questions as to its origins, which I could not answer.
We eventually made it back to Yrkanis, and I thanked the company for their help and willingness to assist in the situation. I then set off for the doctor to treat my wound fully.
My wound was swiftly treated with medicinal herbs, then bound tightly to ease the pain and prevent further blood-loss, but there was no time to rest. I knew I had to organise a meeting of the generals for the next evening. With the generals often on various tasks around Atys I knew it could take some time and so wasted little.
My first stop was to meet with my Seer, Meng Xielu, whom I thankfully knew was in Yrkanis at the time. I gave him the amber piece to look after and study. I am sure he shall be deep in his lore books tonight investigating for any signs of the origins of this mysterious amber piece.
With General Bai-Jimao still infected with the goo, I set off in search of my Fyros scout and dear friend General Sanantia. She was not in Fyros that I could see, so instead I set off for Fairhaven in search of General Rehn. It was there I found and informed Sanantia, along with several interested Homins, of what had happened.
Whilst in Fairhaven I was honoured to recognise some of the Homins who had assisted me earlier, and to learn from them that some went in search of more clues around the Tunnel of Woe after escorting me back to Yrkanis.
Sanantia had not seen the good Tryker General Rehn for a few days, so I first searched the bars of Atys he loves to frequent as often as he can. However, I did not find him. Sana suggested he may have been investigating the Burning Forest in Fyros but I could find no trace of him there.
I eventually had to rest my injury for the night and regain the strength in my leg. I shall set out tomorrow to find him and inform him of the meeting we are to convene in Fairhaven tomorrow evening to discuss the situation.
Generals Phanasa and Sanantia will keep searching for him in my stead.
We shall see if my seer has found out anything tomorrow during the meeting, and Homins are welcome, indeed encouraged, to attend if they are able to for this may effect us all.
