With tools, that's not the case, so we wanted you to be able to still perform the action and avoid situations were you could get stuck; so they are not automatically destroyed, so you can still craft or harvest, even if it does not give you experience anymore and that the items you craft are of lesser quality.
Not a very effective analogy since one does not fight with their armor but with their weapons which do disappear when they are completely worn out. By the same logic, you can still harvest or craft when the armor poofs.
I realize this change was made to remove some headaches for Nevrax, but in the spirit of consistency I think picks and crafting tools should be destroyed when completely worn out. When a weapon is destroyed one can still fight with their hands although not as effectively.. This should be the case with harvesting and crafting.

Agree with Zanah.. How many times havent you been grinding crafting levels with a tool that was broken? (resulting in you missing out on a LOT of xp, if you manage to do so for 15 minutes or more).
Please make the tools disappear when totally worn out.

I'm gonna have to agree withthis. I've miss ALOT of foraging xp cause I wasusing a worn out pick. Not having them disappear when they are worn out is a pain inthe toosh.

what if auto unequip when worn out. you could still equip it and continue if you wish.
sometimes it takes ages to sneak to forage spot (and you maybe only need few mats / mapping the zone, dont care about xp), now if pick will dissapear.. hehe.. one angry digger

Sounds the fairest thing to do.....Both following cases would profit from this:
Case 1.
''Been many times i've visited the [insert name of place] for hunting and on a break from combat tried 2 get harvest xp only 2 find out that my pick is at 0 hp...''
Case 2.
''Well its my first time in [insert name of place] and although my pick is at 0 hp i would like to map the region anyways

destroying the pick would mean i cant map any more and going back to a shop is long and dangerous''
Unequip the pick and furthermore give her a slight red tint so we kno its dead

Since the first time i lost XP i check my systemwindow and my tools. Maybe i am wrong but i still belive that tools between 70 and 99 are best. Especially the picks. A new one (100/100) causes IMHO more care. Then between 99 and 70 it works best. Below 70 it seems that it starts causing more care.
Yes, it should vanisch when worn down to 0.

A little story ....
The most expensive pick in Atys.
Ever spent 41k dappers on a pick?
I have, much to my embarrassment!
TP'd to harvest site, walked to the mat field, went to equipe my pick!
Yep no pick.
TP'd home, bought pick (x2)
TP'd to harvest site, walked to the mat field, equiped my pick and dug.
3xTP at 13k + 2x1k for picks
Golden rule of harvesting, always carry 2 picks!
as for disappearing items etc ..... I am not fussed either way really, I am on old hand at the game. For new players items disappearing could be seen as a bug or just plain confuse them.
As for digging with a broken pick .... why do you go dig? Mats or XP.
I dig for the mats, and therefore no pick = no mats = unhappy Neun.

I do both. When in fount i dig for mats (or DP

) when in EI or PR i dig for XP most of the time.
Another thing about vanishing items. The message should apear onscreen like the PvP messages. Not in the syswindow only. This would be good for newer and older players.

I destroy my pick each time I hit the town. Is already a reflex. So the 1-st path starts from tp and goes to tool merchant.
LOL. A couple of times I've destroyed my amps coz I was wearing them instead of pick and like I said the "reflex act" is to right click on right hand and destroy / enter
Anyway, if you are planning to be a hardcore harvester, this reflex could save you a bit of work.
