Who do I have to kill to loot these laser rays?

Are they solar powered? Perhaps the homin solution would be beam weapons recharged with sap crystals (this is following the thread of homin versions of karavan weapons). It would still be silly unless the weapon held a clip of at least 50. Honestly the idea of running out of ammunition would make range worthless versus melee.

You do realise that homins probably won't have access to this technology? At least, not for quite some time. The Karavan are very tight-lipped about that kind of thing....
